So I've got this wolf that I'd like to store for a while and want to make sure it's preserved properly . . .

Er, rather, I've got some wolf 7.62x39 poly coat that I'd like to store for a while and was wondering what other people have done to prevent rust on the cases. I was thinking some combination of desiccant packets and VCI chips in a sealed container. Has anybody had any experience storing steel cased ammo for long stretches of time?

Thanks all.

Here's long term storage for WOLF AMMO!

Just kidding... I just wanted to be the first person to trash it.

I have like 2k rounds of it in my closet in those mil-surplus ammo cans. It's still in the original little cardboard boxes. But I figure it won't get moisture or any of that stuff in there.

And I work in a place that sells shoes... so getting those little desiccant packs is cake, and I just toss a couple on top... and change them out every few months or so.

do you feel that it is important to keep ammo in the original cardboard box? Or do you feel you can just dump it into a can and store it like that?
