I've got a 17hm2 rimfire barrel that is unusable due to a feed ramp cut into the chamber that causes every casing to burst. It's a custom barrel and I'm wanting to salvage it by boring and press fitting/bonding a ring of stainless into it, and then re-cutting the chambe. They may not even need a 17hm2 reamer since the front 95% of the chamber is perfect and the cartridge is straight walled:
It's for an experimental semi-auto AR build, so I'll want to have a small ring cut in the new chamber for the purposes of delaying extraction (it's pure blowback at the moment -- another rifle with a good barrel shows about 0.010" in swell on the rear of the case and there's lot of gas from early extraction).
I'm looking locally as well, but if there's someone who's known to be reliable, precise and willing to do off the wall projects, I'd love to be connected with them.
