I'm looking at scopes under about $350 that will initially be placed on an AR in 450 Bushmaster. With that cartridge I don't need tons of magnification as all shots will likely be 200 yards or less. The scope does not need to be "tactical" it just has to of course fit an AR.
Thinking I do not "need" to be over about 7x magnification on the high end but up to 9 or 10x would be fine. On the low end 1x, 2x or 3x would be fine. I do not want higher than 3x.
This is for hunting so I do not need a cluttered or hard to use reticle. Do not need illuminated but I am not against it either. Heck it might be cool
I am familiar with Vortex Crossfire and Diamondback but I do not own any. I have looked through a Viper series and I like it. I own a couple Leupold VX1 scopes, have no experience with any of the newer Freedom series. Also looking at Bushnell Prime series. I'm sure there are more I could or should be looking at but there are so many. Lots I have no experience with Athlon, Burris, etc.
What should I be looking at ?
