Well, after selling a finnicky WASR2 (shells ejected inside casing, works great without dust cover), I browsed the local for sale ads. Found a couple of deals on SKS and AKs and emailed the sellers. Not a minute after that, the person replied and said that he still got it. It was a Yugo M70B1. It comes with 9 mags, and 600 rds of monarch (actual count is 650 rds). He wants 700 bux for it. Well, since i have cash from the WASR, i said yes. I figure at .20 C/rd, plus 9 mags, the rifle itself would only cost around $350-$370.
So he brought it to me this past sunday and it was a beauty and yet, beast combined. There is a heft to it and what it seems to be a solid built. The bolt carrier slams hard but yet smooth. For some reason, the stock gives ample amount of cheek rest, at least compared to the smaller WASR2. I love that thing. Too bad the night sights has been punched out.
Best of all, it comes with 3 steel mags. 2 of those are the original Yugo with BHO (bolt hold open) follower. So i cleaned it up a bit and will be taking it to the range this Sunday. Range report will follow. Man, I'm sooo excited.
