I like mine. Not as much as my .44RM, but nevertheless...

I’m glad you got it and I hope it brings you a lot of joy shooting a 19th Century AR...

I had mine out over the 4th with a jpoint on it and it was a crowd pleaser with the TX Star as reactive steel.

Nice! A few months ago a bought a new 1894C in 357 Mag and its a great gun!

Now (almost like you) I need a 357 mag revolver to go with the Marlin.

I bought an 1894CB in .357 for Cowboy Action a few months ago and am very happy with it. It doesn’t seem to mind .357 or .38 Special. It operates flawlessly so far and I would say I have around 400 rounds through it at this point. I haven’t been firing it as much as I’d like due to some medical issues.

I've owned many 1894's over the years, currently have a .32-20 and a .357, have owned .44 magnum and .218 Bee but let them get away, nice shooting and handy.

Which one is the .32-20 and .357?

My .357 is verrrry similar to the bottom one except it has a full length magazine.

I have a Winchester 1892 takedown in .32-20. Nice rifle & caliber.

Was able to get some range time with it today. I was at my handgun training range with my new LCRx357 so I didn't get any long shots. I managed to get back 20 yards and was able to shoot the center out of the bullseye with two ten shot volleys. I'm sure I'll be able to do that at 50 yards too.

What a great shooter this is! It comes up and on my shoulder like it was custom made for me. Very comfortable. The action is glass smooth and has a short throw. I didn't care for the buckhorn sights and will probably change them out for a peep sight. The loading gate was a little stiff, but I'm sure that will wear in over time. I might snip a little off the spring in the magazine tube. All in all I'm extremely pleased with todays results. I wanted to put more rounds thru it but the mosquitoes were relentless. They're really bad this year.

My loading gate is very stiff as well. I was going to lighten the spring tension by trimming the spring but a friend of mine, who specializes in Marlin action jobs recommended not harming the spring but adding a washer under the spring at the retention screw.

Thanks for the tip!

I bought my 1894CS at Kmart back around 1987 for $165. The had them on clearance and I got the last one.
It has always been a fun gun to shoot. I used it for Cowboy Action Shooting in the late 90’s and found that if I worked the lever to fast 38s would hang up. I ended up shooting light loads in 357 Mag cases.
Around 1990 I refinished the stock and removed the white butt spacer and bullseye emblem from the stock.

Nice looking lever gun!

32 years later the price has more than tripled. But then again in 1970 I bought a Belgium made Browning BLR in .308 for a little less than that.. around $150.

Is THAT what that white circle with the black dot is??!??!!!???
Does it serve any real purpose, Herald any great accomplishment .... or is it just there for the "cute" factor?

The white circle with the black dot is Marlin’s old trademark Bullseye. It’s only purpose is for looks.
It’s not to mark the spot for a sling swivel stud. Look close at Armored Farmer’s pic and you can see that he has a swivel stud properly mounted.

Ah...."cute" factor, got it!;) And, yup, did notice Armored Farmer's had swivel & bull's eye, so I did know that much.

Fore and aft.
To be honest, I cannot remember if I installed the sling studs, if they were factory installed. I ordered the gun new.

I’ve got a recent.44Mag. It came with stud and forward mount on forearm band.

Accuracy is poor. Considering trading/selling it. Barrel looks like rifling was cut with a coal chisel. However, it feeds .44mag and .44Spec. SWC like tap water.

May try to send it back for new barrel.
