Marlin Shotguns

I just got a marlin model 190 I think it is. It is a 12 guage Pump. I took the wood stopper out but still can only fit 2+1 rounds in it. Any suggestions? Also, this being my first shotgun, is there anything I need to know about it? Cleaning? Thanks...Jason.

I don't know that model in specific so here are a few general things to do
1)Make sure you find out if it's able to take steel shot. There are some choke/barrel combinations that aren't safe on older guns.
2)Get a bore snake, it's like a rope with bronze woven in. You simply thread it down your barrel and it cleans like magic. This will tell you if you've got any rust or pitting in the barrel that could make it unsafe to shoot.
