Fly Old Glory May 1

With the Great American Boycott being perpetrated by illegal aliens, I'd like to recommend that all show their patriotism by flying their American flag May 1. If you're in a position to do so, please purchase a firearm to offset any boycott effects, too. Send a brick to your Senator!

Its a shame that this thread will be closed just as soon as a moderator sees it.

Its also a shame that millions of people can break the law, cross our borders and protest, and we all turn a blind eye for the sake of the almighty dollar.

Its also a shame those same millions are willing to live in the shadows as second-class residents, unable to fully enjoy the civil rights our Constitution affirms, for the sake of the almighty dollar.

Somehow, though, a good number of people don't think this is a suitable political/legal topic to discuss.

I figure with the recent crackdown on multiple threads like this, I'm not gonna add to the pile with a new thread of my own. I hope this thread's author doesn't mind me posing this related, but somewhat tangential question in his thread:

Does it seem silly to anyone else that this immigrant boycott/rally/whatever is being held on May 1st? I understand that the general sentiment is "we (immigrants) are important to this country, and by staying home from work we can demonstrate our economic clout". But May 1st is a de facto socialist/communist holiday. I understand the origins lie in the labor rights movement in the US, and that labor rights are inextricably bound to the communist ethos, but it is pretty clear that the radical left has long since co-opted May Day as a celebration of communism and the supposed worker's paradise that has resulted therein. A modern fringe movement (especially in the US and Europe) has taken to using May 1st as an outlet for their anti-capitalist angst, however misplaced. You'll find the same people vandalizing cars and Starbucks whenever the IMF/World Bank/President Bush come to town.

Take a look at international newspapers today, tomorrow, and Tuesday, and you're sure to see many a marching worker holding aloft pictures of the Hammer & Sickle, Lenin, Ché Guevara, and other communist icons. Also watch for clever (but completely absurd) anti-capitalist slogans.

Right, so my point is, why in the world did the pro-immigrant groups pick May 1st to do their thing? Either the organizers belong to the radical left, and/or they didn't realize many Americans would associate their movement with communism. It just seems like a really dumb idea if they're at all concerned with winning the hearts and minds of legal Americans. Of course, the entire premise -- regardless of which day the walkout occurs -- doesn't seem to have taken into account the inevitable backlash that will occur, so maybe the organizers of this event are only interested in confrontation as a means to achieve their goals.

By the way, I have my own May 1st celebration planned. A very nice Korean family is opening a deli adjacent to the liquor store they've had for years. It's just a few blocks from my house. These immigrants open the doors to their new business on May 1st. I'm going to exercise my pro-immigrant, pro-capitalist views by patronizing their deli. I wish them all the success that capitalism, and whatever vestiges of entrepreneurial freedom that still exist in the US, have to offer.

I happen to have a LOT of friends who are of Mexican and Latino heritage....but NONE of them refer to themselves as being something other than AMERICANS! Along that same thought, since my descendants were from Scotland, Ireland and England, I do NOT think of myself as bein a Scotch-Irish-English-American! I am a born-and-raised AMERICAN, a citizen by birth! With that in mind, I honor the LEGAL immigrants who have reached this land, and have become CITIZENS of this great nation!

The ILLEGAL entries are nothing more than problems for all of us. Without any regard for our LAWS, they bring THEIR cultures, THEIR diseases, THEIR lawlessness, and THEIR intolerances across OUR borders! Do they care if THEIR country is rotten to the core? Do the care if OUR country is brought down to the level of what they were used to in their homelands?

How many times have we heard that "they" serve a purpose? "THEY" do the jobs that American citizens WON'T do! What a crock! "THEY" want "rights", even though they are ILLEGAL entries in our land!

Yes, our nation is a "melting pot", but it is comprised of LAWS and REGULATIONS that cover immigration. When ILLEGAL entry is done, WHO knows WHAT those "undocumented" foreign invaders bring into OUR country? Diseases? Illegal drugs? Some sort of nuclear or biological "Weapon of mass destruction"? Of course, they bring down our nations level of economic "status quo"....as if our own elected REPRESENTATIVES in government haven't been able to "tax and spend" us all to the extremes already!

Fly the AMERICAN flag proudly on May 1, 2006! Break out the barbecue grill, cook up some ALL-AMERICAN hamburgers, and go spend some money on this day of "No gringo" crap! Send your kids to school, go to work, and make it a NORMAL AS USUAL day, if at all possible! Don't hunker-down with a "doomsday" outlook, for it won't do any good. Heck, go out an mow your own lawn! Celebrate your AMERICAN citizenship as if it was the 4th of July!
If you happen to know any "Hispanic" descendants that are AMERICAN citizens, call them and thank them for merely being your friends and AMERICAN citizens!

Yes, we can build a "wall", but it will cost a bundle. What we cannot do is to change things in other countries, unless we first change things in our OWN country! To continue to allow the ever-increasing flow of ILLEGAL migrants into our country is a total travesty...and to give those ILLEGALS "rights" is a total abomination!

Fly US Flags on 1 May: Please acknowledge

Let's try this:

If you do not daily and in accordance with accepted protocol fly your American flag, please do so on 1 May 2006.

That is all. ;)

IBTL,

I prefer the Gadsden flag. Far more appropriate for our times. A close second would be the Confederate battle flag.

Neither of these would be offensive to the illegals, but instead, a reminder of what kind of nation they are coming to. A nation that loves freedom, individuality, peace and free markets. My parents are immigrants. They left their nation because it was a socialist s**thole. No freedom. Reminants of aristocracies. Endless redtape and regulation. Have to know somebody or be somebody to have any chance at making it.

I'm all for the immigrants coming. Just leave the crime back home, leave the drugs back home, leave the socialism back home. This nation is successful for what people came here for, not for the garbage that people tried to bring with them the last 200 years. Immigrants are leaving their homes for a reason, because what they know and how things operate there don't work. Things work pretty well here.

Adapt. No one's asking anyone to lose their culture or heritage.

It is overwhelmingly suspicious that the labor walk-out day for immigration issues falls on May-Day:

My home has had an American flag raised every day for the past 18 years. Only had 2 complaints, both by renters from Mexico. They no longer live in the area and my flag still stands.

There you go, Husker1911. :D

I will raise Old Glory, along with the USMC EGA flag (Semper Fi!), at sunrise and lower them at dusk--just like I do every day with the exception of inclement weather. ;)

By my count that makes at least 3 of us.

I for one can see no reason why anyone would close a thread that seeks only to tally those willing to commit to flying the US flag on the same day that little kids will leave baskets of flowers for their moms' on their respective doorsteps, right? ;)

Sounds nice. Almost Norman Rockwell-esque. ( double ;) )

We'll keep it short and to the point, and without qualification: "Please fly the flag on May Day 2006."

Yup. We'll keep it simple; you (Husker1911) keep count. :D

(and GO BIG RED!)

She flys everyday at the Scout house. One of these days I'm gonna get a real flagpole so that I can fly the Army flag below it.

And a blank firing 75mm Pack howizter for the raising and lowering cerimonies .......:D

We need to return to the original American way of all being citizen-soldiers like Jefferson's vision. That is the only way we can regain control of our republic.

We could stop bad laws, bad leaders, bad court decisions, deal with crime, deal with immigration.

We gave up the responsibility of self-government long before we were all born. Into dependency, and now towards downfall.

I need to order a gadsden flag and put it up. Should I get the yellow one with coiled snake, or the stripped one with diagonal snake (naval? first naval jack I think it is?)..

I know most of you are well aware of the planneed boycott of American goods and services. To counter this, I am proposing that everyone go shopping and spend money. Buy whatever you planned on, groceries for the week, clothes, shoes, etc. But I am hoping every THR member buys at least one box of ammunition. Even if it was a $0.79 box of .22LR. That is how I plan to help our economy. I'll probably spend $50.00 on .308 ammo. I think it is a good idea. What say you? Illegals protest by boycotting, we buys guns/ammo and do shopping to eclipse it. Do your part: Don't let our economy slow from a needless boycott, please. Buy stuff!

I know what you mean about "American Goods". I just want to see this boycott fail. Just buying goods/services puts money into our economy.

Yuppers, I plan on stocking up on beer and cigars for the entire week tomorrow. That oughta help.:)

May 1 Protests -- Designed to Divide America

The May 1 Immigration Rallies -- Structured to Divide America
The more I look at how our mainstream media covers a story, the less I respect the process. Looking world-wide at what is being covered is always interesting. There have been stories covered in Australia and other countries which I have read, and covered on this site and seen that story make it onto North American media two to three weeks later. Often the msm will all leap onto a story enmass and cover it to the exclusion of all other news.

We saw classic examples of that during coverage of Hurricane Katrina where rumours and hearsay was reported as fact. The corrections were reported months later, if at all. The same thing happened on CNN during their coverage of the 911 attacks where several days after the attacks they were bringing on "experts" who were saying that to avoid long term mental problems, that people should be avoiding watching the continual coverage.

The May 1 demonstrations are yet another example of the main-stream-media leaping onto a story to the exclusion of all other news. The organizers are hoping to shutdown major cities in an attempt to demonstrate the economic clout of immigrants.

Time for a Reality Check
America is not against immigration! The entire nation has been built by immigrants who have arrived from distant lands to make America their home. No one is asking anyone to give up their heritage. Most immigrants to America have proudly embraced the virtues of American life and maintained proud ties to their heritage.

Anyone trying to tell you anything different is simply trying to sow seeds of division.

Legal immigrants on talk radio are calling in to express their anger at what they see as illegal immigrants trying to jump to the front of the line.

The May 1 Rallies are not about immigrants, they are about people who have snuck into America. The Washington Post writes, "At table 10 of the Oval Room, a high-price lawyer slurped an $8 bowl of asparagus soup. Over at table 71, a crowd of Office and Management and Budget staffers toasted a retiring colleague, while at table 76, a White House correspondent leaned in to hear what her lunch partner was saying. In the kitchen of the restaurant, there was a different kind of kaleidoscope. The sous-chef, a Panamanian immigrant, directed two cooks from El Salvador, one from Guatemala and one from Honduras. A Salvadoran immigrant ran the food to the tables. All the activity was monitored by the general manager, an Austrian by birth, who needs to satisfy the owner, originally from India."

Note the term immigrant -- legal immigrants are not the issue here. While some in the media seem "stuck on stupid" and are blending legal immigrants with illegal immigrants, it is important to make the distinction.

On May 1 2006, CNN is offering free online coverage of all the rallies via the Internet. Yet while they are reporting and interviewing all of the usual suspects they can, the balance appears to be missing.

After several days of covering the buildup to the May 1 rallies, it is unlikely that they will all of a sudden start reporting that the organizers are tied to the Marxists.

On April 11, 2006, The Washington Times is reported, "One of the key organizers of the immigration protests and rallies nationwide, including yesterday's in Washington, is a group whose leaders are tied to the Workers World Party, a Marxist organization that has expressed support for dictators Kim Jong-il of North Korea and Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) Coalition, which also has proposed a nationwide boycott on May 1 to protest congressional efforts at immigration reform and border security, is an offshoot of the International Action Coalition, an anti-capitalism group founded by former Attorney General Ramsey Clark.

"In a press release celebrating a March 25 rally in Los Angeles against immigration-law enforcement that drew an estimated 500,000 people, ANSWER said it helped organize "a major contingent in the march" and provided logistical support. The march was co-chaired by Juan Jose Gutierrez, director of Latino Movement USA, who also is a member of ANSWER's Los Angeles steering committee. "We are people of dignity, and we demand respect," Mr. Gutierrez said at the rally. "This is the beginning of a movement that is going to call for a national work stoppage."

All it takes is a simple Google search for Juan Jose Gutierrez to uncover a few facts. One would have thought somewhere in the main-stream press some intern or cub-reporter might have wanted to dig into this a little more?

Why then are so many of the mainstream media not covering this aspect of these rallies?

Often, as Zombie Time has show in their coverage of anti-American rallies, the mainstream media often doesn't show the entire story.
Immigrants and America
The reality is that the vast majority of illegals don't want to become legal, what they want is their illegal status recognised.

That might sound strange, but think about it for a moment. They don't want to become Americans, they want to be able to have all the benefits without any of the costs or responsibilities.

While the media, and rally organizers try to con Americans that this rally is about how important immigrants are to America, the reality is that this is simply a means to shove a new special status for illegal aliens in America. This is also a means to further divide Americans on what is an important issue.

You probably won't hear many of the talking heads for the main stream media telling you the facts.

That is why it is increasingly important for each of us to continue to share common sense with each other.

I like how the last few mini-demonstrations (for immigration) contained dozens of people waving around red flags with Che's ugly mug on it. :cuss:

If they are trying to send a positive message across about how we are co-dependent -- it's not working. I'm not getting the message about them coming here to work and live the American dream. :uhoh:

So far, all I've seen is that they embrace socialism. I'm equating the mass immigration of Mexicans as an importation of Socialism/Communism. That's the message I get when a labor walk out is staged on MayDay, and everyone is preparing their Communist banners and flags.

I say - Assemble the Militia! :what:

But that's only a dream. :(

Sounds good to me. :D

Shopping list for Monday 1 May:

1. Alcohol.
A nice small batch Bourbon. (USA)

2. Tobacco.
A box of Arturo Fuente Hemingways. (OK; not USA, but what could be more quintessentially American than good whisky, a fine cigar, and Nick Adams?)

3. Firearms.
A box of ammo--the "good stuff"--in .45 ACP. (That's "America's Caliber" Projectile--USA, of course).

("Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms: the three basic food groups, the three most rudimentary needs according to Maslow, and the three absolute essentials needed for a party.)

Instructions for Monday 1 May:
Having secured the above, repeat the process until personal satisfaction threshold is attained or the money runs out, which in my case usually coincides with the moment my wife walks in. :)

Yep.. That'll work. ;)

BTW: I will actively support the "Illegal Immigrant Boycott Tomorrow." Yessir! I plan to boycott the livin' beeeeee-jeepers out of each and every dern one of 'em. They can count on me to do my part!

BOYCOTT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TOMORROW!

MiG

If you go out to eat, go back to the restaurant kitchen and peek in the door. If it looks like a place where illegals are working, tell the manager why you're leaving. And, then leave.
Same goes for anything else you buy tomorrow.
Make the boycott work for real.

As an older returning college student, Monday is going to be a l-o-n-g intense day with Case Study, Research Papers, Review for finals...

I don't drink.

I will get Zippo Fluid, and snag some extra Zippo Flints, and Zippo wicks. Look up the history of Zippo.

Gonna carry a Case knife (check them out too)

Most likely snag some Marlboro Red, in the box. Cigar...humm sounds good to me...

Take notes with #2 pencil , made of real wood and real lead [Mirado Classics, even the damn pencils sound sexy huh ? ] Pencil? I will be doing math problems, IP addys, subnets...etc.

The bestest part? Now the one lady in one class is bringing in to class home-cooked Southern Fried Chicken, she can put a scald on some chicken I tell you. One of the guys is bringing a salad...easier to name what is NOT in the salad...homemade dressing.

Maybe a little Grand Funk Railroad - American Band while eating...

Was hard tonight, but I didn't drink any mexican beer or tequila, and have intentions to NEVER drink it again.

If we all boycotted their stuff they would be screwed real fast!

Now, for the Monday thing, I just hope that they all stay off the road so I can get a 25% faster commute:evil: since that's the % they quote around here.

How will I know they're illegal? Should I just walk out if a Hispanic-looking person is working the kitchen?
