Couple shots of a Mexican loop I just finished, this time for a 7½" Colt. Pictured with my Cimarron Bisley .357Mag, wearing Persinger ivory. Based on Will Ghormley's "Cheyenne" pattern, I redesigned and shortened the skirt. Always liked this style of holster for a 7½" with a half or 2/3's two-loop skirt, rather than a full length three loop. It has double border stamping, a few antique nickel spots and a slotted concho.

Another museum grade example of your leather crafting abilities! Thanks for the photos!

Howdy

Beautiful.

Now, I have a question. Because the frame of a Bisley Colt is slightly deeper than a standard SAA, my Bisley will not quite fit in the holsters I use for my regular Single Action Army revolvers.

Did you size your holster a little bit wider, to accommodate the slightly deeper frame, or did you use what ever pattern you normally use for your other SAA holsters?

I'm asking because I am thinking of having a holster made for my old Bisley.

Thanks

Thanks all, for the kind words!

Far as I can tell, the difference in the Bisley receiver is at the top, where it rises higher on the recoil shield than the standard SAA. The problem you're probably running into is with the triggerguard. The Bisley is a good bit larger. If a holster is made as snugly as I fit them, especially around the triggerguard on this type of pattern that encloses the triggerguard (Mexican loop or Slim Jim) there's going to be a problem. I used a standard SAA pattern but wet formed it with the Bisley. I tried the Bisley in a holster fitted to a standard SAA and it doesn't fully seat but a standard SAA works pretty well in the Bisley holster.

Everytime I see your holster I think my SS vaquero is naked without one.

Absolutely Gorgeous.

Dang

I got parade saddles that don't look that good !
You're not only a leather smith but an artist too.........

Gorgeous holster.

So the part that the gun actually goes into. Does that just sit loosely into the two loops? Or is it secured in there with hidden stitches?
