Mayor Bloomberg is personally wealthy and spends his own money to support anti-2A forces in many states and cities.

This again raises the Speech question but I have always wondered what right does a person have, who does not live or vote in a particular election district, to interfere by supporting one candidate over another. What right does Bloomberg or myself have to support another candidate in another state?

What right? Try First Amendment. He is expressing his views with his money, just as he might with his voice or his pen.

Unfortunate, but I'm surprised that's all he's sent; at least yet. I'm more disappointed to learn that the NRA has contributed that much....I had hoped, for National appearances sake, that they'd stay out of the fight so it could be a true "the NRA didn't target this election" win. Now if the pro-IIA candidate wins, the charge that the big-bad NRA influenced the election can always be made.

I live in Colorado and I'd really rather my state was run by people that live here as well not people that live in New York.

I know but I believe that people outside of the election district need to stay out of the election. You don't live or vote there then you cannot participate unless you are a close family member or your business has a primary location there.
There is a process to do that, lobby and campaign to get the election laws changed.

I think Bloomberg may actually end up being a huge asset. He's arrogant, rude, intensely sexist and pushy. Basically your standard east coast jerk who's jerkishness has been compounded by years in the financial industry leveraging huge mountains of money at the expense of others. The media back there protect him like guard dogs, but there have been many rumors of his misconduct that will no doubt be expanded upon as he injects himself further into national politics.

Since I have family in Denver, I've been watching things there a bit..... I absolutely support Mr. Bloomberg's right to send money to candidates wherever - and I sincerely hope that folks in Colorado are reminded of that until any candidate that accepts the funding wishes that he or she had refused it.
Seriously, for all of us that oppose his point of view, beating the drums over and over again about his support for anti gun types is a great benefit for our side. By the time the recall comes around I hope that every voter in that state is sick and tired of hearing about Bloomberg and all that he represents... If the recall succeeds, maybe those portions of Colorado considering breaking away to form "north colorado" will stay and fight for the things we all stand for.....

The money will make little difference in changing peoples minds in Colorado. The people who don't know the facts about the nutty laws that were passed last year will likely not get the message. They are probably focused on other issues, this is just a footnote to them. The difference will be those folks who might have voted for a legislator who blindsided them last year. That will not happen again.

If the incumbents are reaffirmed in their seats, it might be easily said that NYC's mayor bought the Colorado elections. How about that Colorado? Are the progressive incumbents so weak that they begged for help from a rich progfascist outsider from New York City in order to win?
If us Colorado citizens who don't live in the Districts of these Senators who brought these laws that affect US can't vote in the recall elections, then monetary contributions from outside those Districts shouldn't be allowed either! They put up barriers to prevent the majority of Coloradans from having a say in these recalls, but pull the barriers aside so money from the Wealthy New York Socialist D-Bag can come right on in? Where's the "right" to that?
Keep us citizens out and prevent us from voting, then keep the Outside Big Money interests out as well. Yes, this would include the NRA, unfortunately. Point is, ALL Colorado residents should get to vote! The actions of these clowns affect ALL of us, so let us have a say!

The chances are good that Bloomberg is wasting his money. Even if he wins by making the recalls stick. I bet the laws that were passed are shot down. The supreme court cannot be so blind that they say a law is constitutional when 54 of 64 sheriffs in CO say the laws are unconstitutional and unenforceable.

Good. I think he will get an education on whether or not those kind of things are good investments. Colorado might just give him a good education on what NOT to screw with.
