Any midsized 380 single stacks around anymore? Got the gf shooting pistols for the first time and she enjoyed a bryco 48 that I borrowed. If it has fiber optic sights, she would love that too.

Depends on what you would call mid size. Bersa Thunder and its parent the Walther PPK/s immediately come to mind as larger than most, single stack 380s.

Kahr CT380

Cz83 (best choice). F/O for a 75 swap in.

Witness Pavona

Sig P232

Beretta 84

Taurus PT58

CZ 83 and the Beretta 84 are both double stack. Beretta 85 is the single stack model.

Bersa Thunder all the way. There is a "chopped" conceal-carry version, though the "regular" version isn't hard to carry concealed at all. There is also a double-stack-mag version that ups the capacity some.

I love mine; it's a good and soft shooter, in my hands, at least...

Bersa Thunder, Walther PP/PPk, SIG P232, and the Beretta Model 85 all come to mind as proven mid-size .380 pistols.

There's also a new Bersa polymer 380 SS that is so nice: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1430736057.910421.jpg
I believe it has a FO front sight (not sure). In any case, I believe it will accept a sig cut front sight--pretty easy to find FO or even night sights for it.
I own a Thunder380 and like it a lot.

Before you settle in on a "mid" sized single-stack 380, be sure the GF can rack the slide. You might find the single-stack gun isn't what works best for her.

My "GF's" favorite is the Browning BDA 380 over the Bersa 85 (pre-Thunder 380 Plus), Tristar C100, Taurus PT58 and Sig P238. Racking the slide is easiest with the BDA 380, next is the Bersa.

Didn't see the single stack part.

It ain't that fat though. Lol

Why limit yourself? Especially with a 380.

That Bersa BP has one of the best damn triggers in any striker fired gun(at least the 9mm does).

You are correct drband.

Sig front sight.
Glock rear.

I would consider the Glock 42 to be a mid sized single stack. Also there is the Ruger LC380 if you're on more of a budget.

The no longer made Spanish 380's by Star and Llama are another option in single stack 380's.
Supposedly Rock Island is bringing out a little 1911 style .380.

I had a Russian Mak in .380 and would consider it mid sized. It was a good shooter, pretty easy slide to rack (has slide release lever). I really liked mine, kinda miss it.

My wife has claimed my Cz 82, but the truth is the grip is a bit too thick. I'm shopping for a Makarov for her. If she doesn't like the Mak I know I will. I've shot a friends Bersa Thunder .380, it's a surprisingly nice gun for the money.

An alternate to fiber optic sights is painting the factory front sight with Acrylic neon craft paint. I use a neon pink on some of my pistols, it's inexpensive wears well and is a step up in visibility over the factory sight.

I put lime green on the front post of my Mak...was very tough to see indoors at first, and stands out very well in sunlight.

You must mean 75B as the 75 has a press mounted fixed front sight like yea olde 1911 service pistol. No dove tail.

Good to know though. for 83 use.

Older 75s have staked front sights, the newer ones are different and not too compliacated to change out.
