I've notice cost to ship from Midway USA seems to have come down. Used to be most orders cost about 20 bucks where now its usually around 10 bucks. Anybody else notice the same?

Also, $10 off $50 spend coupon code = NWTF210

I don't know, I went to order two of their tactical rifles cases and they wanted $50 to ship them UPS Ground!!! Only $16 for one??? It irritated me so much I went to Amazon and bought two Voodoo cases. Better cases but twice as much.

I think you have to spend so much to get cheaper shipping. Anything under a X amount they add a handling fee on??

$50 is the break point for the handling fee, IIRC. I placed an order last night that included 1500 bullets (.20 and .22 cal) and some dies and shipping was a reasonable $17ish. I think the complete AR upper I bought shipped in the $20 range.

The special handeling fee is $3.00 for orders under $25. Note they can have five UPS and 4 USPS shipping options depending on what you order. UPS Basic is the lowest.

Just over a week ago, I ordered some 10/22 parts. Total price was $38.96, S&H was $4.01. I thought that was pretty reasonable and it all came is a flat rate padded envelope. I ordered on Thursday, and the parts were in my hands on Saturday.

Shipping cost is a BIG factor in who I buy from, needless to say, I don't buy from Midway or Sears but then again I don't buy from my local Gander Mountain store either. I am very cost/value consious.
I place my own value on service/shipping/products and if it exceeds that value, I don't buy it. I think most people do it that way.
I won't buy a $12.00 item and pay $10.00 shipping/handling.
I have always said that I will give you a product at my cost, just pay shipping and handling. LOL

Shipping for me is usually between $10-$15. I generally order at least $100 worth of items when I do buy...and there's usually always ammo involved in my order. If I order on Monday, it will be at my door on Wednesday. Shipping prices aren't terrible, IMO

Midway used to "ship free to the first 48" as they once advertised but that has changed. I've found their shipping costs higher than most . They did seem to lower them somewhat but they're still more costly to ship than either Natchez or MidSouth. Most all my business the last 3-5 years has been with MidSouth if they have the product I want. They're usually a little cheaper than Midway's prices and the shipping is less also. It's real easy to compare total costs on - line.

Midway shipping is kind of funny. Many times it is really reasonable, but sometimes it is so much I have to look elsewhere. They need to look at the program that figures it. I wonder if they realize they are losing business due to it.

Yes I am sure they realize it but they get enough so I don't think they care much.

Guys, oil prices are going up, so fuel goes up and everything made from oil goes up. Also everything shipped goes up.

As an oil industry worker, I don't see this "war premium" going down quickly. My recommendation is to order now, order lots and get stuff shipped before the prices really climb.

I have laid in about 16,000 bullets in the last 3 weeks and will order even more tonight. I would like to get at least a years worth stockpiled.

I just received my first order from Midway about a week ago. The order was for $130 and included the large range bag and several other light items. The shipping was $14.88, which I felt was on the high side, considering the fact that the box was relatively lightweight.

I had wanted to purchase 5 MTM 38/357 ammo boxes, but they were out of stock at the time. I called Midway to inquire as to whether the shipping costs for those boxes would be included in my order or cost additional when finally in stock. I was informed that they would be charged to my card when back in stock and would then be shipped as a separate order with their own shipping charge. Curious, I placed just those 5 boxes in my cart and moved to checkout so I could get the shipping cost and was floored to find it would be $8.24. The total cost for these 5 light boxes is only $10.95. I sure won't be ordering them until I again have enough stuff I want to order so their shipping costs are absorbed into a more sizable order....and I don't think that will be for quite a while.

Here's what their website has in regard to shipping:

"How do I obtain a shipping estimate?
Simply add the items that you would like to your Shopping Cart, visit the "Shopping Cart" page by clicking on the link at the top of most MidwayUSA.com pages, enter your ZIP Code into the "Get a Shipping Estimate" box and click the "Get Estimate" button.

How much does shipping cost?
Calculating shipping charges is more complicated today than it has ever been, so we do it all for you via computer programs in our Contact Center and on our Website. Since it isn't possible to calculate Postage, Handling & Insurance until the order is complete and the computer programs run, we encourage our Customers to visit our Website or call our Contact Center to determine the total amount of their order, including shipping charges. There is never an obligation to place an order when you do this.

Special Handling Charge
MidwayUSA attempts to keep our costs as low as possible so we can give our Customers the best pricing in the Industry. Since we will accept any size order, there is a Special Handling Charge of $3.00 for all retail product orders under $25.00 and $4.00 for all dealer product orders under $40.00 to offset the additional costs associated with handling orders under these amounts."

The customer service person I spoke to was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. The order came via UPS and arrived about 5 days earlier than the estimated date I got at the time of ordering. It was packaged well and everything was intact. It was a good experience, especially for someone like me, who is hesitant to order online....amusingly so to my kids.

Their prices do seem to be higher. But for those saying the price shouldn't be so high because the product doesn't weigh much don't know how shipping works. It's primarily based on the size of the box with weight being secondary. There are thresholds for weight and you incur additional charges when you reach these thresholds. I've been charged some rates for shipping car body parts that are very high because the size of the boxes is outside the norm and takes up more room on the truck. It didn't matter that the part only weighed eight pounds.

I've been pleasantly surprised with how many firearm related products Amazon sells. Spend $25 and the shipping is free and I always get it in a timely manner. Now if they only sold powder and primers :)
