This is not unusual with these. I believe they are purposely held to low velocity (260-280 fps., supposedly low enough that it won’t penetrate skin) for safety and to satisfy certain interests that want to control everything.
If you want better performance I’d suggest visiting Cobalt327’s thread “Putting more power in a 15 dollar Daisy”. It’s 80-something pages of theories, research, experiments, and yes, even some info on things NOT to do.
It’s also loaded down with bb guns that shoot 350 fps, 400 fps, and even more !
Dumb question, but why not just buy one of the “Christmas” guns at Wally-World ?
They already have the compass and sundial (and even include the gnomon).
Prices at my local store are $34.97 for a standard Ryder, but only $29.97 for the “christmas” gun.
