I just looked through my image archives. Found just about no photos showing two men who'd look like a couple. I need models for new Pink Pistols posters. In particular, I need pairs of models. The models don't have to be an actual couple or gay, the two ladies above aren't...but you have to be comfortable with being used in Pink Pistols promotions.

I may be found in Minnesota later this year...still not very local.

My current plan is to show two men's hands with wedding rings for the first poster.

Threadjack:
Minnesota? Cool! (Literally, this time of year. 10* high tomorrow)

Is there going to be a THR meet-up or you here strictly for business? I'd be interested in getting to know some other THR folks, but I don't think I'd be a good model.

Oleg, I would very much like to "model" for such should you be interested. I have very good friends in Nashville so it would be a good excuse to visit. In fact I may could convince them to model as well, and they are a male/male couple. Do let me know.

chadwickms,

Let me know your schedule for early 2008. I'd have to plan around weekends or Friday evenings.

I'm not gay, but a guy once flirted with me on the bus. It was totally my fault since I inadvertently initiated. A few months later, one of my gay friends told me that it would be easy for me to trip their "gaydar".

Not local though or even close.

One of the main problems with doing Pink Pistols work is that many straight women are willing to be cast as lesbian but few straight men are (though some THR folks had helped in the past). So it is hard for me to use existing images, even if I had any that were suitable.

I'd let you cast me as a lesbian, but the beard might be hard to Photoshop out.

Have the Pink Pistols thought about posing the question to their membership somehow? It might be a great opportunity for marketing and membership growth.

If you're going to be up around central Ohio some time, I'd be more than willing to do a men's picture.

Have the Pink Pistols thought about posing the question to their membership somehow?

It got posted on one of our email lists yesterday.

My neice is gay and has filled my wife and I in on the everyday social graces of gay couples. (we love her so we listen)

Those two girls above are about as far from gay as earth is to the sun.

They have their own set of dress codes, speech and manners. You'll get a much better response from the gay community, if that's your intended target, if the couples appear to be gay in their dress and outward appearance.

I have had gay students in the past and I have heard of this Pink Pistol organization, but don't know how active they are.
Oleg:
Perhaps some information on this organization? history? etc.
I think it would help the board understand it a bit better. My philosophy has always been that I could care less what adults do with each other in the bedroom as long they are pro RKBA. ( The old adage, the enemy of my enemy is my friend). We need to build stronger alliances.
One of the things that the gay communities are very strong on is organization, financing , and communication. This is why the gay lobby is so effective. I suspect that a very large number of them are pro RKBA but are afraid to come out on the 2nd ammendment because of potential scrutiny by their peers in that community. Also, there are alot of them in law enforcement as well. We need to build strong alliances with them.
I don't personally endorse the lifestyle, but as I said above, on the pro RKBA issues, we can build strong alliances and move forward.

I certainly don't want to shift the thread from its intended purpose, but as a lesbian I would like to correct the assumption that gay women "look" or "act" a certain way--even if you "have it on good authority" from a friend or family member.

Although stereotypes are frequently stereotypes for a reason (they make a true representation of a segment of a community), I can assure you that neither I nor most of my friends would be "picked out" as gay. There's an arsenal of cute skirts and accessories in my closet, and no flannel or birkenstock's. Perhaps if I knew about the lesbian "dress code" and "manner of speech" I would be hassled less by guys who can't take a polite "not interested" for an answer.

Anywho, off the soapbox now. Just to recap, the PSA of the day is that not all lesbians have mullets and not all gay guys are hairstylists.

:)

Now, I'm off to google "pink pistols". ;)

... the gay community, if that's your intended target...

Careful, lest this be construed as a pun or Freudian slip -- on a gun forum no less.

Revamp,
I wasn't assuming anything.

Just passing along info told to me.
I'm sure somewhere in the middle you two will agree.

My only concern was to make the poster as credible as possible for effectiveness.

No one deserves to be bashed with a baseball bat - and this happens to a lot of gays. Tragically, these gays often happen to be our sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, etc...

As a result, wouldn't you want ALL your family members to be protected as you protect yourself? Then...please seriously consider what Oleg is asking.
