Most impractical gun you own?

The .50 AE Desert Eagle. I was out in my garage tonight trying to clean things up, and I found the 1991 copy of Guns & Ammo where, to paraphrase, Jeff Cooper reccomends the pistol as possibly the ideal gun for the man who has everything, although what to do with it might take some thinking.
Why didn't I pay more attention? That sucker's coming up on seventeen years NIB sitting under everything else in the bottom of the gun safe. I want my $1200 back. Also, I'm informed that people in Hell want ice water.

my baretta CX4 Storm, sure its a blast to shoot, somewhat cheap as well considering that its .40 cal but I have other guns that can plink for cheaper, kill woodchucks for cheaper, or farther away, or more spectaculary and all that, and the trigger is a bit odd, but its still a neat little carbine

At this point, I would say my 91/30. It's just too long to be practical for much of anything.

I dunno, I think there are quite a few Germans that may disagree with that:D

Bought a 5 shot snubbie Iver Johnson Cadet revolver marked ".38 Cal" on the frame and ".38 Spcl" on the tag when I bought it. Had it for 3 years thinking it would be great to go in a tackle box. It is double action but loads through a side gate or by removing the cylinder pin and cylinder. It's the only gun in my house not locked up, but kept in a high chest of drawers with 10 rounds of .38 Spcl in a small draw string pouch next to it. Just found out a few weeks ago that it is chambered for .38S&W.

I usually order ammo bulk via the Internet but only needed a box of 50 so I had a local gun store special order it. $42.50! About half the price of the gun. It's going to be some relative's Christmas present this year after I test fire it 50 times.

Owning both a M91/30 and a K98, the K98 definately beats out the M91/30, Big long rifle that sure does feel like a design of 1891.

My Webley-Green Army Model in .455 something.

Can't find rounds for it, and though I've been told it has been altered to shoot .45 Colt and has been stamped .45 Colt I'm not willing to try.

I'm not getting rid of it because it looks so cool.

Carcano 6.5. Mail-ordered about the same time that Lee... never mind.

Precision loaded all up and down the bullet/powder spectrum with good new Norma brass. No good. Zero accuracy, practical or otherwise. Found out the rifling was about .010 on the diameter larger than the bullets. I still wonder how it was possible that Lee... never mind.

In desperation, converted it to .357 Magnum with a Douglas barrel --bolt face is the same size. Cut the chambering reamer myself.

Never got around to adapting a magazine for it, shortening the bolt throw, or rigging an ejector for it.

So there it sits.

Single-loaded, it doesn't shoot too bad, but...

There it sits.

Remington .41 rimfire derringer with one and only one original cartridge. Fortunately I quit drinking before it was gone!!!!

My T/C Contender. It was bought in .30-30 for IHMSA. Never had time for IHMSA, due to work constraints. Bought a .45-70 Super 16 barrel and forend for it for a bear hunt. Never did the bear hunt, either. The gun in .30-30 is a lot of fun to shoot, as it outshoots many rifles if I do my part, but it has turned out to be probably the most impractical weapon I have.

Yet, I still want more barrels for it.:D

Maybe it's my as yet unfired CBC 12 ga single shot shotgun. Unfired because I can't fire it at anything around here. Bought because I didn't think anybody would pass up a gun of any kind for 28 bucks.

My 1938 Turkish Mauser. I've never purchased 8mm ammunition, so it's hardly practical to keep around. Like Stevie-Ray I couldn't pass up a gun for so cheap.

>a box of 50 so I had a local gun store special order it. $42.50!<

Wow... you got robbed! I picked up 2 boxes at a local hole-in-the-wall for $22 a box...

Of course, this was after trying to find .38 S&W at Gander, and having to explain to the twit behind the counter that I did NOT mean .38 SPL...

Advantage arms 4 shot 22lr derringer that
i bought years ago for a 100 dollars.It does
shoot pretty well and it does have a great
blued finish along with burl walnut grips.

Double barrel 14mm. Fun to shoot and pretty cool.
Though you can hunt small game with it, it’s probably my less practical handgun.
A guy that hunts often would sure think differently though. It fits nicely in a small backpack and it knocks birds out of the sky with ease, hunting bunnies and other small critters is easy too.

another CZ52 answer.I bought it on a whim.I haven't even fired it yet after 3 years.Just put it in the safe and forgot about it.I might shoot it in the future though.

My 2 KG Colt Walker Black Powder Revolver...

it is a hoot to shoot though...

probably my 1911. It's heavy, overpenetrates, and the ammo is too expensive.
 Just kidding.

Seriously, I'd have to say a springfield 1852 black powder shotgun with a 48" barrel. The stock is all beat up from being in a NJ cavalry regiment in the civil war, and it uses these maynard tape primers that no one seems to sell.

I'm thinking of refinishing a mosin-nagant in the style of russian artist Piotr Karl Faberge (gaudy and chintzy with gold plating, bright colored enamel, and precious stones). That will be pretty impractical if I ever get around to doing it.
