Had to go back over mine. I forgot about some that I had.
I thought there would be more Hi-Point owners because, whenever someone says something bad about them so many come to their defense. ;)

I'm not surprised to see Ruger and S&W leading the pack, but I am surprised that they're so far ahead of Glock and Colt. Now I just have to decide if my tinfoil hat will let me vote.

Between the wife and I, we have 2 Kel-Tecs, 1Ruger, 1Taurus, 1 FM (Argy), 1TZ(Zastava) 1Essex(1911a1), 1RG, and a Cobra. I have owned the TZ twice

I just finished taking inventory! I have 23 Smiths followed by 10 Rugers. I have at least 1 of every mfr listed in the poll except 6. I have a lot of stuff, but I KNOW there are folks who have more. A lot more, and that's a good thing!

I had 13 of 20, plus around ten manufacturers who aren't listed. It's not the OP's fault that there can only be 20 choices.

I wonder...

Wonder what the most commonly owner ruger of the bunch is?

May be able to narrow this down to THR's most popular handgun period.

Maybe even do a top 10 s&w and top 10 Ruger in a pole? I will let someone else decide if they want to fire that poll up though.

Informative, I seem to like Colt 1911s and S&W wheelguns the most; however, my last purchase was a Sig 1911, nice. :)

Brand loyalty must mean something. I am a Colt and Ruger guy. My first pistol was a Ruger .22, my first centerfire pistol was a Colt. I really haven't strayed far with the exception of my brace of FEG pistols. In 30 years or so of buying handguns seems I've been pretty narrow minded.

Surprised there aren't more Colt owners. Couldn't vote for my Brownings.
I was actually surprised how many people own a colt on this forum in comparison to the General Public. I would figure it would have been about 15%.

It definitely tells you something about the average age of members on this forum. It's not that young people don't like Colts, they just can't afford them lol

One suspects that the number of respondents participating in this poll who own Ruger handguns says more about the price point and availability of Ruger handguns than anything else.

I think that asking those who own multiple handguns which brand they own more -- or carry more often -- or take to the range more often -- or which brand they absolutely trust their life to -- of might provide a better assessment of popularity ... Not enough people participating to declare a "most popular" brand (I know there's a lot more than 46 THR members who own H&K pistols, for example, and the CZ, Beretta, SA numbers indicate that a lot of members aren't voting).

I figure the upswing of Ruger is due to the revered Standard and Mark series, and their new glut of pocket-sized, small belt, and budget CCW pistols.
If this had been posted ten years ago, probably not as many Ruger auto owners.
As much as I love my Mk III and SR9c, the P-series was, to put it politely, not going to place in any Miss America pageants.

You should add Pietta/Uberti, etc to the list, there are a lot of folks that own reproductions and BP revolvers.

My Carry guns are either Ruger LCRx, LC9s, LCP or Sig p238, but, I also own several Piettas both in BP and SA versions.

I find it funny that only 19 people admit to owning a high point, I know 19 people in my neighborhood that own one (and we are urban UMC - not in town). I own two a C9 and a 995 pcc - they are perfectly fine and fun range guns. I will admit though, if I had not been able to get the C9 brand new with discounts and gift card for less then $75 on black friday one year, I probably would not have bought it, and would have missed out on having a reliable throw in the truck, or tacklebox, or trailer gun.
