You should add Pietta/Uberti, etc to the list, there are a lot of folks that own reproductions and BP revolvers.

My Carry guns are either Ruger LCRx, LC9s, LCP or Sig p238, but, I also own several Piettas both in BP and SA versions.

I find it funny that only 19 people admit to owning a high point, I know 19 people in my neighborhood that own one (and we are urban UMC - not in town). I own two a C9 and a 995 pcc - they are perfectly fine and fun range guns. I will admit though, if I had not been able to get the C9 brand new with discounts and gift card for less then $75 on black friday one year, I probably would not have bought it, and would have missed out on having a reliable throw in the truck, or tacklebox, or trailer gun.

I don’t know a single person that owns a Hi-Point.

I was not trying to start a hi-point war :). I was just surprised is all.

Cabelas had a black friday sale this year, and were selling them for $85, many many people walked out with the white box.

I am a ruger and pietta guy, but have kimbers and sigs as well.

For my situation, the hp is not a carry or HD gun, I am not saying it cant be a carry or hd if someone elses situation is different. I bought mine because I could, it was cheap and I wanted to find out if if was as good or bad as some say. I've wasted more on less before.

Mine shoots when I pull the trigger (not a great trigger fyi), but it shoots and I can hit what I aim at out to 20 yards or so, so, it is a fun range gun - cheap to shoot, the 995 is a fun cheap to shoot inexpensive pistol caliber carbine, aka - range toy. Again, both would work in a pinch, but, I have better for hd or carry.

I am waiting for the Hi-Point Bulpup carbine kit to come out. Once it is on the market I will probably get one and Hi-Point to go with it. However, at the present, no Hi-Point in my small inventory.

For me the list is missing:
Surplus High Power (unless it falls under FN Herstal)
Makarov (A different poll showed it as being quite popular here)
Olympia (A Chinese copy of a 30s' Walther target pistol)
Dan Wesson (pre-Kimber)

I think everyone is just ashamed to admit they own that hi-point C9 that only gets out when no one is around and stays hidden in the back of the safe!

I was considering counting my Hi Point 45 Carbine but it's really heavy with just one hand.

I own a Taurus PT92, but seeing as it was made by Beretta trained workers on Beretta tooling can it really be classed as a Taurus?

I wonder how much "Marketing" comes into play with the guns bought and owned. One company sinks a fortune in Marketing, others are content to just have a Niche market. Most popular certainly does not mean best. And to pick one manufacturer and say it is the best is ridiculous. You would have to consider all models. And new and latest does not mean best. Then there is the "Perceived" value, false reviews, internet crapola, paid gun mag writers and on and on. I am a fan of a number of Manufacturers, yet there are some models I would not give you a plug nickle for. Some firearms are Over hyped by the internet, some underrated.
Many guns today are bought by the High Marketing Manufactures and newbies buy a ton of guns. And you walk into a LGS and they typically only sell the High Marketing guns. How many folks that buy today have actually heard of the CZ, the Jerico, Kahr, and the dozens of other manufacturers? You tube produces a lot of just junk. Reviews from people that should not be reviewing their own ass much less a gun that they really do not know a lot about. You have people that will buy a soft drink that Navy Seals drink, and Hickcock45 will influence a ton of people even though the gun he shoots that day, may be the worst gun for the individual Purchaser.
I looked at the list and thought, Man I just wish I was in gun heaven and could shoot thousands of rounds through all of them. I have shot many on the list, own many but many never touched. And who knows, ONE THAT SCORED LOW ON THE LIST, COULD JUST BE A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.

Bad news is...I only own specimens from 5 of those on the list....Good news is I only have interest in 2 of the remaining brands listed... Colt and HK

I do have interest in 3 or 4 brands not listed...

I voted Springfield, Ruger and S&W but only have 1 Springfield, 3 Rugers but a dozen S&Ws

Just like the poll shows, i am about equally split between Ruger and Smith. My Smiths are older models, Rugers half old, half more recent.

Had the Ruger LCR9mm out this morning at the range along with the LCR22. Also ordered a Beretta Nano this morning and will have the LC9S out for a workout tomorrow. Also this am, had the Kahr CW380 do a run of 100 rounds along with the Pico.

I "used" to own one I didn't vote on, of course. Add to that 2 or 3 others that are gone. Messed up and didn't vote for my Hi Power cause I didn't see "Browning". Probably have more Smiths than anything else but Colt and Ruger can't be far behind. I also have another I've owned for decades but didn't see on the list.
