I'm glad that you've never been shot at.

The noise the carbine makes is fairly fixed on the length of the barrel and the ammo type. It's plenty loud on the bad end of the barrel. The loudener just directs some of that back at the shooter and people on the firing line.

So it's only louder for the guys on your side of the line. Not the guys down range. And using brakes and short barrels in a team situation is a bad idea as well.

Try a 7.5" AR pistol in 5.56 with a flash can. Loud, and directs that blast down range where it's needed.

It's also handy if everyone on your side sounds the same. If everyone has a suppressor, then only the bad guys are making tons of noise.
