My favorite Press

I used an RCBS Junior for years, still have a Lyman Spar T, really liked the Lyman T Mag, but hated having primers bounce out of the catcher cup and land on the floor. So the current heavy duty press I have is the Redding T7. The primers go in the ram, out the tube, into the bottle.

Dillion is the ONLY equipment to buy and use, Has anyone really cried when they bought one??
Tears of joy ... Right after the "empty feeling" of wiping out a big chunk from bank account. :D
Over Thanksgiving/Christmas when life events forced me to liquidate over 90% of my guns and reloading stuff, I had to narrow down my choices from 15 presses.

What I ended up keeping were Dillon 550C and Lee Auto Breech Lock Pro/Pro 4000. 550 was the press I learned to reload on (along with Pro 1000) by my match shooting/reloading mentor and I enjoyed the simplistic process of manual index that brought back many fond memories of my younger years.

With that said, ABLP/Pro4000 is hands down my favorite press.
  • For high volume pistol/short rifle cartridge reloading, no press has easier and faster caliber changeover.
  • Going from small to large primer takes literally seconds.
  • Compared to primer tube filling on Dillon, it's "dump and go" for ABLP that will feed down to last primer.
  • Having offset ram mounted under resizing/depriming station allows more consistent finished OAL regardless whether using unsized brass or not.
  • Spent primer down into a tube/bottle for collection is the only way to go.
  • Standard ergo handle has good leverage and easier on the hand/arm.
  • Shell plate with index holes ensure precise index timing and easy resetting of shell plate.
  • Universal case feeder/collator increases production rate.
dillion 750 ... ?! lol
When I sold the 650 with case feeder, I thought about replacing with 750 but since I am quite happy with ABLP with case feeder, I may actually consider testing out the new post 2020 Pro 1000 with flat base.

I’ll get a 750 eventually

At Dillon 750 pricing, I am looking HARD at FA FX-10 10 station press at $1099 including the case feeder
I'm already looking and budgeting for when they become available

I already have a Dillon 750 on the bench next to my Hornady LNL. While there are differences between the two, I've found it seems to come down to preferences

The owner of the 750 just got a Mark 7 Apex, but for my reloading needs...exclusively handgun ammo...I'm thinking the Frankford FX-10 might well serve me just as well.

For that price, it better be BLUE
Sorry the FX-10 isn't overpriced enough to be Blue. :p

Assuming consistent build quality to their recent introductions, I thinking competitive pricing to a similarly equipped 750 or LNL AP while offering more functionality and comparable warranty to a Dillon 1100

I don’t like being the 1st to try a new product. The 1100 is tested and proven, that’s worth an extra 30%!

I had two strokes and fell and broke my back. you will notice when I make a post it is quick and to the point. Setting for more than a few min at the computer and my back starts to spasm. I have felt better the last two weeks so I am giving it a try to set a little
longer.

That really sucks. Hope you are able to recovery. I guess not much shooting or reloading getting done.
My 36 year old very healthy son had a stroke this last May 3 weeks after getting the moderna shot.

Well, the biggest change is I don't travel to Ca and Tn. anymore. So I don't do my bets on precision rounds and speed of presses anymore. Oh by the way I never lost a bet.

That's $2200 in wife money, maybe $3300.00. Make sure it's worth it.

I'd love to have a 10 station press and I can easily afford to buy either the Frankford or the Dillon 1050 but I'm just to practical to spend the money on a new press when my Hornady AP I have, does everything I actually need, plus a lot more.

I'm sure a Dillon 750 would also, Heck, my ABLP and my Rock Chucker does everything I really need, but I'm not parting with my LNL-AP anytime soon.
