my first and last DPMS

Back when ARs first started being used in non-traditional competitions, DPMS was one of the few companies that would build your rifle to order (I know, you build them yourself now) so they were very popular. They can't be too low of quality as a company, they started out providing parts to the US military.

I still have one, no problems that required a trip to a gunsmith, factory or even replacing parts.

Alot of companies started off doing many things, but that doesn't mean that's how they are today. I think we all can name a handful of manufacturers that fall into this category.

I had a Dpms sweet 16 and it was an excellent weapon that was well made and accurate. Mine burned up in a fire, so I'd get this one fixed and be glad you still have an AR 15 to plunk with, hunt with, and protect your family with because I wish I had the money to replace mine...

I have over thirty other AR's of all price ranges and the DPMS quality is right up there with the rest.
By the way what has happened to the OP and is there any current information on his problem??

The OP has disappeared awhile ago without telling us the cause perhaps it was bubba the home smiths fault not dpms fault we may never know

Jo jo, This seems to be a frequent occurrence on many of the forums as the topic becomes warmly discussed the original person presenting the topic simply disappears leaving everything to conjecture. My rifles of many manufacturers work just fine so I will bow out and find another discussion.
