Just thought that I would share my excitement here.

I picked up a decent Chinese SKS on black friday for 200 bucks. Its in pretty good shape, all matching and not bubba'ed. The only bad thing, the trigger was AWFUL! Long, gritty and heavy. I tried a thorough cleaning but that only made it worse. So I went to Youtube and watched about a dozen videos on trigger jobs.

I found out that my trigger had negative engagement (most of them do) and that with about an hours worth of work you can turn the worst SKS trigger into a decent, smooth, safe trigger.

I re-cut the angle on the sear to get positive engagement, polished the sear rails, and cleaned up and polished the hammer.

It made a world of difference! It is a tad heavier now, but shorter and smooth as silk. This is the first trigger work that I have ever done and feel pretty good about it. All you need is a small file, some emory paper, and a little patience. I thoroughly tested it for safety so no worries there.

Just thought that I would share my success and that if you have an SKS with a crappy trigger, it isn't hard to improve.
