So I have finally finished building my first can, it took me over a year to get the design figured out and find the parts, but its finally done, and it works amazingly well! I dont have a commercial can to do a side by side comparison, but the video shows it all.

Let me know what you guys think of it.

Looks like it worked out well for you! Congrats.

What's the weight? The thing about the kit parts like that is that you end up with a tremendous amount of wall thickness with tube & spacers, which encroaches on your internal volume. Those baffles look really thick, too, and stepped cones for low pressure rimfire rounds are rather curious. Skirted baffles with 65° smooth cones inside a thin Ti tube is the ticket!

If you decide to delve further into the hobby and get a lathe, I can help you build one from raw stock that will be shorter, lighter and quieter. This one is 1" OD, 5.8" long and weighs 3.9 ounces with a titanium tube, 416 stianless rear mount, 416 stainless blast baffle & 7075-T651 for the rest. It can handle full auto and .22 WMR:

It worked out very well I have to say! Ans Thanks!

The weight was like 6.8oz, I forgot to include that in the video. But the SS tube is pretty thin wall, and Yeah I agree cone baffles would be more efficient, its only a matter of finding some that have the correct OD, and I am looking for them. There are pressed freeze plugs that will fit, but I try to steer clear of any pressed parts because they wont even come close to machined parts in terms of accuracy. I literally get no shift in POI, you wont find that in a freeze plug suppressor.

I can only wish for a lathe... the skill.... and some Ti....

Aside from the excellent performance and quality workmanship considering the tools you have (and don't have), the video production is to be commended. Outstanding job.

+1
Great video, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm working on a second model, should be better than the first!

The left wing liberals have deleted my originally video, so I found a workaround to it. here it is:
Trying to get it uploaded to UGETube but it seems like their site is having some issues and video wont upload....
