Cool! So it’s a .44 Magnum?

I recall hearing about the Virginian Dragoon, but I really know nothing about them so I just did a search. Here’s what I found.

Congratulations on your new (to you) revolver.

Yep, its a 44 Magnum. They also made it in Colt 45 and a .357 Magnum. I just could not pass it up for the price. Not going to find anything this cool for $425 anywhere else.

I watched a number of You Tubes on it last night and did find your second link which places mine as a 1976 Bicentennial Edition:

"Bicentenial Edition – built in 1976. The bottom of the backstrap was engraved with, “We the People, 1776-1976”."

Showed it to my wife this evening. She didn't know that I had bought a gun, but liked the inscription. Didn't even ask how much. Can't wait to fire it. Going to do a little 44 Magnum just to see how it feels to shoot it. Then will mainly run 44 Specials. I don't know that I am going to shoot it a lot anyway. Just nice to have. The rod for removal of the cylinder also serves as a safety as it can be pushed farther in to a second notch where it sticks out to prevent the hammer from firing the gun. This is one of those carry-without-a-round-under-the-hammer guns. So, effectively a 5 shot, but can do 6 shot at the range.

Now I only have the larger 32 ACP on my list, or maybe should wait for a 30 Super Carry. Ah but one never knows when another great revolver might show up. The have more revolvers I would buy but that I have to restrain myself a bit. Just bought 3 guns this month, one last month, and one the month before. My credit card balance is getting pretty steep between guns, ammo, groceries, and medical/dental charges this month.
