Remington OEM beavertail grip safety
OEM commander hammer
EGW flat firing pin stop
Ed Brown 1911 tactical thumb safety
Wilson Combat firing pin spring
10-8 performance .140 u notch rear sight, with smith cut novak sight cut
Wilson Combat checkered front strap
Wilson Combat flat ultra light match trigger
milled Front cocking serrations
Wilson Combat shok buff, FLGR and 22lb wolff spring (only when shooting 45 Super)

The Wilson Combat Checkered Front strap is $9.99 at MidwayUSA. Its a checkered piece of thin metal that secures under your grips. It works for me. Having a smith actually checker your front strap do it runs anywhere from $150-250 depending on how many lines per inch you want cut into the frame.

No, it's NOT a checkered piece. It's perforated sheet metal like a cheese grater. It works but it's hardly "checkering".

Why a flat trigger?
Just curious-I've never handled one, but to me it just looks uncomfortable

The intent behind the flat face trigger was that regardless of where your finger hits the trigger face it will have the same feel whether you finger engages in the trigger at the top, middle or bottom of the trigger face. That was the design intent, but I also like the aesthetics.

Shot up the rest of some winchester white box 230gr hardball I had lying around, 10 yards. Center group was one mag after I switched from 6 o'clock to point of aim hold.

Nice! Instead, I bought a Taurus PT1911AR; had all that, and a bag of chips, for a lot less money. All I changed was the trigger; I like the 1911 style longer trigger.
