I have used these guns for years. They can be very acurate up close &not bad a reasionable range. I have a BW. & Earl that are great for fishing & hunting trips. I would get the magnum, but if you can, get them as combination models. Having the ability to shoot both rounds is great &gives you more shooting!

Same thing with firearms, you carry them for the role they are inteded.

I agree with you there. The role intended is saving my bacon if all else fails. If I didn't think the NAA could do that, I wouldn't carry it at all, backup OR primary.

Different perspective I guess, but I consider the NAA an "always" gun, not a "never" gun.

I own a NAA Black Widow Convertible (.22LR / .22MAG) and a NAA Mini Master in .17 HMR. I carry the BW in the BUG role whenever I carry. The Mini Master is used in the plinker and range role. Any of the NAA minis are capable of much better accuracy than 5 feet if the shooter does his or her part. :D

I really like mine and I have not had any issues with either over the years.

my NAA .22 mag 1 5/8" shoots minute of paper plate at 5 yards, shooting 22 wmr. Shooting 22 LR, just a tad better.

At home, the Pug (bottom) is with me ALL the time. The Black Widow is my normal BUG. It has a LaserLyte laser on it. Both in .22 Magnum. I have a .22LR cylinder for the BW that allows me cheap practice.

I wouldn't go smaller than the Black Widow if you want accuracy you can use in any kind of hurry. Knives and sprays might be better options.

I find my short barrel 22lr to be just as accurate as my Black Widow at 10-15.

Knives and Pepper Spray better? Hardly? How much experience do you actually have with NAAs?

I can most times put a cylinder full on center mass from 7 yards with my 1" barrel Pug, but the 2" barrel Black Widow is definitely easier to be accurate with. I'll keep either one of these in my pocket ahead of a knife or pepper spray.

Sure knives have benefits you can't use a NAA mini for. I can't really recommend opening a cardboard box with a .22 for example. NAA definitely has better range than pepper spray, and no worry about spraying yourself in the face with NAA with a strong wind.

About accuracy - for grins I shot the old Texas DPS CHL test (the blue bottle guy) with a 1 5/8 inch mini. I scored it about 230 out of 250. There were three head shot misses, three in three zone, three in the 4 zone - IIRC. The rest were 5s. The misses were at the longest distance.

So I'm looking to buy a tiny 'last ditch' firearm. Mainly as a backup and because I have a thing for super concealable firearms . So my question is two fold..

1. Been looking at the NAA .22 revolvers and I'm wondering, will I see any noticeable difference in accuracy between the 1 5/8 and 1 1/8? For the application (tiny-concealable-better than nothing) I'm thinking its more beneficial to have a smaller barrel, because with these guns you won't be hitting anything over 5ft anyways.

Don't sell these little revolvers "short". I kept a photo of the first target I shot with my then new PUG .22 Mag, which has a 1" barrel. A CCI 37 gr JHP averages 934 FPS out of it.

The hits marked "1" were from my first string, at 15 ft.
The hits marked "2" were from my second string, also at 15 ft.
The hits marked "3" were from my thrid string, at 10 ft.
With the exception of a couple of shots, you can cover all of them with a tennis ball. Not bad, IMO, for the first 3 cylinders worth of ammo.

Here is the PUG in its holster.....it's been my backup now for several years and is always in my front pocket.

My naa mini has a 1 1/8 inch barrel and the folding grip.
Barrel length doesn't matter, it's a point-and-shoot gun to me.

For anyone that does carry one of these, why wouldn't you look into a seecamp or lcp instead?
Of course the mini revolvers weight is less and they are slightly easier to conceal but, it seems like a nice trade to gain capacity and bigger caliber.
Just wondering.

NAA does make quality firearms though.
I've shot a 22 short model.
I had a guardian until got my seecamp.
I actually preferred it but the mag release would hit my thumb while shooting and drop the mag.

I do, sometimes.

Main carry guns over the years. The Kimber is the latest, about 7 years now. I left out a full size all steel Springfield from years and years ago. It was it for some time. I still have it, and it is still 100% reliable. It has the small GI sights though, and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Loved the sights when I still had great vision.

My daily carry is an NAA Black Widow in 22mag. If I have pants on, I'm armed.

As 99.9% of self defense shootings are "bad breath range", "accuracy" -really- isn't all that much of an issue ... and any of the NAA's will do, if YOU will do.

I've got the NAA Guardian in .32 and a couple of Walther PP series guns.

Why choose a Black Widow... I like revolvers and these carry so easy you don't even think about it

Much less recoil. No ftf, fte

And the NAA is MUCH lighter as well. When I still owned a Kel-tec P3AT as my running pistol it would bounce around no matter how I carried it. And that is a 7.8oz firearm which is still lighter than 11.5oz of the Seacamp. NAA .22mag is 6.35oz on my scale, and can be loaded with some impressive ammo over .380 or .32.

*unloaded weights of course*

Ownership and use is all. When it comes to the NAAs, if I want to hit anything I use a Mini Master. If I want to hit anything in a hurry, I use something else.

The little NAAs are surprisingly accurate, but they're not the kind of fast and easy to use you need for stopping a threat at the distances you would use one. You can quickly disable someone with spray. Once they are within arms reach, taking them down with a knife is as quick as anything.

Personally, I carry the little NAA when I am working around the yard or in the garden. When I head to town, its an alloy-framed .38 or better. I have a cell phone I find more a bother to carry than that .38.

The NAA BW is always with me. It is often used when I am in one of the organic fields and find a rabbit in one of the rows. The BW actually gets more use than my larger carry gun. With practice it can be accurate.

Like ArizonaTJ said ... too many people are selling these little guns short.
I have the 1 5/8 .22 /.22mag model with holstergrip. It goes with me almost always (this is Illinois). It will explode liter bottles at 20yds. Fits in my front jeans pocket, or vest pockef, or coat pocket, or nearly anywhere. It is also a high quality gun. I am comfortabld carrying this piece.
