The one on the middle left is a 7.62x39 with a 110 grain V-max, no?

EDIT: How did I miss the .35 Whelen?

My best guesses from left to right:

.257 Roberts
.256 Newton
.358 Winchester (edit: duh, way too short, I think VP got it)
.378 Weatherby (not positive exactly which, but it's definitely some Whetherby)
???
.35 Whelen

Cant do the bullets...but I'll take a stab at the cartridges...

243 Win, 6.5x52mm (Carcano), 7.62x39mm, 300 Weatherby Mag, 8mm Mauser, 35 Whelen

EDITED TO ADD: 8mm mauser and to change the 300 Whisper to 7.62x39mm...I forgot the 300 Whisper is considered a pistol round...and I meant to put 6.5x52mm the first time...but had a brain fart and put 6.5x55mm.

.243 winchester with 100 grain corelock
6mm remington 7.62X39 with nosler balistic tip
.300 weatherby mag with balistic silver tip
.35 wheelen with winchester power point
.375 something:banghead:

Krochus doesn't believe in cannelures

Shure I do, but only when they are in the correct location.

So far they've all been guessed but no single person has gotten them all in one post.

HINT

Cartridge 2 has two cannelures

I edited my previous post to add the 8mm Mauser and to switch the 300 whisper to 7.62x39mm...but they still may not all be right.

I forgot the 300 whisper is considered a pistol round for use in T/C's.

Since we apparently won't find out until one post has them all correct, here is my second attempt:

1. .243 Win
2. 6.5 Carcano
3. 7.62x39 w/110gr VMax
3. .300 Whetherby
4. 8mm Mauser
5. .35 Whelen

Edited mine again...I had a brain fart and put 6.5x55mm instead of 6.5x52mm...

JesseL...I think we have it figured out...but that first round is not a 257 Roberts...the case is too fat and too short.

You're right, I decided the same thing and edited it in my second post (apparently right after you started typing).

I think you were right the first time about the second one being 6.5x55 Swede (but dang, I'm not positive), and the third is definitely 7.62x39.

So I think we're at:
1. .243 Win
2. 6.5x55 Swede
3. 7.62x39 w/110gr VMax
3. .300 Whetherby
4. 8mm Mauser
5. .35 Whelen

1. .243 Win
2. 6.5x55 Swede
3. 7.62x39 w/110gr VMax
3. .300 Whetherby
4. 8mm Mauser
5. .35 Whelen

You got it JesseL sorry ridgerunner but you shouldn't have changed number 2

1 243win loaded with a 100grn Hornady rn

2 6.5x55 swede loaded with a 140grn rem sp seated in the bottom cannelure

3 7.62x39 topped with a 110grn v-max

4 300wby mag shooting a 168grn CT silvertip

5 8x57 and a 195grn Hornady spire point

6 35 Whelen capped off with a Hornady 250grainer

Those darn 6.5's are always confusing...they look alot alike.

the sad part is ...I have 6.5x52, a 6.5x55, and a 243...I should have known better, but was too lazy to look....LOL

I should have known better for several guesses too.

I've got a 6.5x55 and I've got an old box of .257 Roberts here too. The round nose on the .243 really and the bullet seated long on the Swede really tripped me up.

I'd post a new batch to guess, but I used up everything I've got one of the last times we played "name the cartridges".

What the heck.

I spoke too soon, I've scrounged up a few cartridges for you all to identify. A hint - you'd be hard pressed to find a current production rifle chambered for any of them.

Absurdly close. Yet again you got all but one (and you were very close with that one).

Have you been reading my posting history?:scrutiny: :D
