I'm wondering if anyone else keeps track of the national origin of the guns they have. I keep the data on spreadsheet (maybe I have too much time), here's a brief breakdown for major countries, for both long guns and handguns:

USA 38%
China 21%
Germany 15%
Russia 8%

Then I have minor ones like Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech, Egypt, Spain, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Turkey, South Africa and Yugoslavia. It's pretty cool to think about how the guns arrived here from all over the world.

Swiss - 1 (K31, D'uh! :neener: )
Finland - 1 (M39)
Romania - 1 (M69, hopefully a AK in the future ;) )
Chinkland - 1 (Norinco SKS :barf: )
USA -
  1. Ruger M77
  2. Marlin .30-.30
  3. Franchi 20ga
  4. Ruger MKII 22/45
  5. S&W K22
  6. 1918 Colt Model 1911 w/ (cracked :banghead: ) Remington Rand slide

More purchases planned but that's the line up as of now...

Don't have percentages handy, but the United States, Poland, Russia, Romania, Austria, and Finland are represented.

For some reason I seem to collect quite a few Belgium Brownings.....Interesting that the greatest firearm designer of all time had his product line made outside the USA.

My collection looks like something from the United Nations...

Gulp

It all of a sudden occurs to me that with the exception of 2 rugers, 2 remingtons , a colt, a kimber, a rock river and a canadian winchester (490), all of my guns came a long way to meet me. China, Japan, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, UK, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Germany and Russia.

I have owned and sold or traded quite a few winnies, remmies and the occasional marlin, colt and S&W, but what I end up with is about 6 guns I use regularly and a raft of greezy old milsurps that fascinate me.

Origins

I have about 50 firearms.
50% Finnish
15% Russian
10% British
10% German

The rest a mixture of American, Czech, Egyptian and Swedish.

USA: 3 Rugers, 1 S&W, 3 Marlins, 1 Mossberg, 2 Remingtons, 2 Berettas (made in USA), 1 JC Higgins, 1 Henry

Italy: 2 Berettas (made in Italy)

Philippines: 1 Armscor

Germany: 1 Ortgies

Hungary: 1 Moisan Nagant

Yugoslavia: 1 SKS

OK, how about a Colt that was made in the USA but shipped to England for sale through the London office? US or English?

I don't know the percentages but I think I have the following represented.

USA

Hungary (FEG pistol)

Italy (Uberti SAA clones)

Germany (Luger, P-38, various Mausers, H&K 91)

Philipines (Rock Island 1911)

Belgium (FAL)

Czechoslovakia (Did I spell that correctly?) (BRNO 602, 550, 98 Mausers)

Brazil (Rossi pump .22 rifle, M92 clone)

Spain (Destroyer carbine, Stoeger Coach Gun)

Norway (1898 Krag)

England (Cogswell & Harrison rifle, couple of Martinis, Enfield revolver)

China (JW15 .22 rifle, SKS)

I didn't realize that I was so international.

All I have so far is a Kel-Tec and a 1970's era Smith and Wesson. 100% American here! Although a CZ of some type is sure to make it into the mix sometime.

Mine are mostly German/Austrian, (Mauser, HK, Steyr, Sig) and Eastern Bloc, CZ, FEG, Maks, SKS's and AK's from everywhere), followed by U.S.

That's really cool seeing all the countries, but I do think if we look at it, a pattern will emerge, the big countries are US, Germany/Austria/Switzerland if you go for modern guns, and also Russia and China if you're into less expensive but still quality firearms.

HKSW by the way, you're doing exactly what I"m doing, using the 3 letter national code in a spreadsheet. :D :D :D
