Caveat - From Amazon, but if you shop there & have Prime, they are a BEST BUY with the free shipping!

Bore Size - To make them fit a 45-cal bore, you need to trim them down to the file, I just checked them up in a cordless drill and had at it, works!

Price - 75-cents each when buying (12) and 53-cents each when buying (30).

If I had a muzzleloader shop, I would buy 50 or 100 and sell them for $3 each, LOL!

Note I do use one of the ‘bobber lights’ for smaller bores, in the rare and HARD to find white color, but they are much more expen$ive. Lighted archery nocks are also way more expen$ive!
Trimmed down they fit a 45-cal bore.

Yez,
Lefty: Do you drop them down the barrel of a muzzleloader? That would be good for everywhere but the area around the breech plug.
Yes, drop them right down in!

I also have one of those $15 endoscopes that connects to a small tablet PC, but this gives an instant review of the entire bore condition, at least that about 1” above the breech.

TIP - They are quite sensitive for the batteries, as tightening them makes the connection, so DO NOT drop it straight down in, but I tip the barrel at a very shallow angle or I put it in slow, still at a low angle and use the ramrod to seat it at the breech.

These are pictures for what a $15 endoscope can do down the bore, looking straight down in. These are of my bro's BP cartridge rifle.

For best pictures above the breech, stuff a tuft of cotton ball down ahead of the light so it reflects it.

Bore scope works good on traditional ones as well, I was able to get down into the chamber/ breech on my old double barrel and really get a good look.

Great idea about those cheap lights brother!

Just one thing to watch out for...

When using a white patch pushed ahead of the Endo Scope to snap pictures, if the patch has too coarse of a weave it can result in shadows on the lands and grooves and make them look worse than they are; also, play around some with how close the camera is to the patch to get the clearest/best image.
