Maybe a mini revolver in .22 Magnum to go along with the PMR-30.

If you have not seen a worn out gun you are welcome to my friends Ak-47..... looks like a smooth bore with some very mild rifling drawn on the inside of the barrel!!!!

One of my guns on my list is a Barrett 50 cal but I want it in SEMI auto!!!! Gotta let my gun fund climb up a bit before biting off that piece!!!! Issue is I cannot shoot it at my range or my friend's range. We would have to find a farmland with plenty of acres in order to be able to enjoy it.

That was on my list too, until I realized that semi-auto capability with inferior accuracy was not worth a $5,000 premium over the AR-50 I ended up with. They're cool, don't get me wrong, but for the uses we generally have for a .50 as civilians, we are better served by highly accurate platforms than fast firing ones. That, and emptying one 10 round mag from the M82 is a $40 proposition minimum. At $4/round or more, I like to really make the shots count.

For most of us, eight grand is a LOT of scratch for a toy, so unless you're independently wealthy, I'd do quite a bit of research before deciding the M82 is the .50 for you.

Have you looked at NightHawk custom? They're about in the price range of Wilson, not sure on how they stack up.... Kimber has a custom shop too I believe.

... The NightHawk predator III comes with ambi safety option.

to add to what mach4 said, if you've got the scratch for a semi-auto barrett, you can prob save a while until you have twice that, and get the ma deuce.

shooting a 50 does not have to cost $4/bang. the fun ammo like APIT and incendiary can be reloaded for a LOT less than that. ironically, since most people don't have a range that will allow them to shoot it, the burning, explosive ammo is usually cheaper than the ball ammo. you can probably get the 'tips' (aka bullets, projos) for 30-40 cents each from places like polygunbag in bulk.

once-fired 50 cases are everywhere. and pulldown 50bmg powder is dirt cheap compared to smaller caliber from places like hi-techammo

For the cool factor how about a Mateba in .44 magnum or V-16 .45 Super?

The two problems are finding one and finding one at a reasonable price.

The purpose of my future 50 BMG semi-auto is not to do a sniper kill from 1,000 yards but just to totally get my rocks off..... to fill my body full of adrenaline while I pop off rounds from a shouldering position!!!!! Just pure stupid pleasure!
I did check out the NightHawks as well as the Ed Brown, Fusion, STI and Wilson Combat was the only one that could command me to drop $3,000.

That'll be fun the first few times you do it, but you'll quickly tire of holding a 30 lb rifle up and firing off very expensive ammunition at cans, melons or dirt birms a few yards away. Believe me, that's not even fun with 5.56 or 7.62 NATA after a short time.

If you own a .50, you'll want to see what you can do at 1,000+ yards. Why handicap yourself with one of the least accurate rifles, cool as it may be?

Remember, the M82 was designed as a DMR rifle for primarily anti-material use. If I was trying to stop an inbound hostile vehicle at a couple hundred yards, yeah, I'd prefer the rate of fire the M82 offers over a single shot. But for long range accuracy work, there are far better choices.

My suggestion would be to get an M99 or AR-50 or some other $3k-$4k rifle, plus a 7.62 autoloader the likes of an AR-10, FAL, etc, and spend the other two or three grand on optics and ammo. You can set yourself up pretty nicely for the same price as the nifty but somewhat useless for civilians M82.

I'm only making these suggestions based on the fact that the overwhelming majority of us on this board are working class, and I have known more than one such person who later regretted spending so much on what amounts to little more than bragging rights after the initial wow factor wore off.

ColtPythonElite beat me to it. I was also going to suggest Anaconda.

The others I can suggest are:
H&K USP Match
H&K Mk23 with suppressor
Beretta 92 Combat Combo
Dan Wesson Havok
Dan Wesson Titan 10mm

Used HH in 7mag
Beretta Diamond Pigeon slightly used

Just a few to think over.

There are some very good suggestions! Whenever I pull out my 500 S&W it never gets old no matter how bad it hurts when I shoot it. Believe it or not, but ammo for my 500 S&W is more expensive than 50 BMG! I seriously doubt I would ever get sick of popping off rounds of the BMG feeling the percussion inside my chest from the tank brake..... but point taken. Besides, what if the zombies learn how to drive and I need get on the roof of my house to incapacitate their vehicle before they reach my driveway!?!?! It would not be by any means my tack driver as I have plans to purchase a 338 Lapua one day for my long range rifle. Most of my future guns fit under the $5,000-$10,000 range and I am trying to be extremely conservative right now hence the budget!

After a letting a few suggestions marinade; I looked at some mammoth ivory upon Taliv's suggestion and holy crap..... they look so cool.
Right now I am looking into buying a base 1911 and having someone customize it as opposed to ordering one from Wilson Combat? Maybe I can have one so cool made up that I won't have the Wilson Combat itch anymore????
What is a good base 1911 to start the build off with?

not to derail your 'cool gun' thread here, but you should really talk to 1911 tuner (the mod) in the autoloader forum, if you want authoritative answers

I have given it thought about purchasing a used gun, but it just kills me not knowing exactly how many rounds have been put through it. Someone posts "Brand new 1911 with only 200 rounds through it" and the bore has been worn out completely lol.

No offense, but one of the silliest statements I have read lately. I have bought a ton of used guns and have yet to get a lemon.

Two rifles that you need to consider:

1. M1 Garand, you would have to look far and wide to find a cooler rifle than this.

2. M1A, they are a joy to shoot and even the standard ones are accurate.

Ok, what I gathered from all that is:

I don't know what I want!!! Help me spend my money!!!

That being the case, I won't mention that the best way to get what you want would be to buy the nearly perfect Wilson you found, buy an ambi, buy a file or two, and install B into A using C. I won't mention that I've done exactly that twice recently. I found my grail carry gun, a Colt's Lightweight Commander in .38 Super, but of course, no ambi. I also found my grail Single Stack competition guns's big brother, the STI Lawman, but as usual, sans ambi. One call to Brownells later, two ambi safeties were winging their way to my door. They even beat the STI home. I already owned a file and a screwdriver, so about an hour apiece was all it took, and this southpaw shooter was a happy camper.

Because I didn't mention any of that, I'll just list some guns that I think are cool, and you may be inspired by.

crash 32:
highpower beat me to it. Maybe a 'Service Grade' Garand, but only from the CMP, if you are willing to be patient for many weeks.

It appears that you are in a hurry, and that your 900* Celsius, incandescent money will soon melt down through layers of your home, like acidic blood from the "Alien" movies' creatures.

Not to ruffle any feathers here, but could a few of you guys chime in and tell me what it is that makes you think that the M1's are so cool? Don't get me wrong, I think that they are cool, but it seems as if consensus has it that it is way cooler than I think it is. A few years ago, I was seriously looking at M1's and once I handled it.... I just didn't get it.
I understand it is a very accurate rifle and it has a cool sight system and saw combat time. Can anyone chime in here and explain to me a bit what personally makes them so cool. I looked at the SoCom and thought it appealed to me a bit more.

As a lefty, M1 Garands aren't all that...unless you shoot and load righty.

M1A's are great for a lefty, though, no thumb issues with the magazine.

However, I'd say get yourself a proper lefty bolt gun first...

A standard M1A is combat accurate, but pales in comparison to a decent bolt gun or AR-10. Accurized or National Match M1As are pretty decent, though. Of course, you'll end up into them for a pretty decent chunk of change to see sub-MOA performance; much more than an AR-10 platform.

I personally favor the FAL over the M1A. Accuracy is comparable, but the rifle is more ergonomic and more modular. Though more involved than an AR, it is relatively easy to change the upper half or front end on an FAL, while the M1A is pretty much a gunsmith proposition for changes in barrel length.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I dislike the M1A. It just comes in well after the AR-10 and FAL on my preference scale for 7.62 NATO battle rifles.
