New Blue Python - GOT ONE

my Python, which i purchased a few months ago, has a stainless finish that i'm not completely happy with. it's not "high polish" but Colt calls it something else. everything is nice and smooth and tight--i can barely see light through the cylinder gap. i put a set of rosewood stocks on it to preserve the originals--they are checkered and have a nice palm swell on them. backstrap shows. (actual stocks, not 'grips') although i go the the range frequently, i don't shoot it often, it's just so precious. had a King Cobra before and ran it hard.

Handled the 4in version today.
If you are expecting the Royal Blue finish from years past, be prepared to be disappointed.

The bluing on this sample size of 1 was flat out awful.

I noticed they're offering the Anaconda in a matte finish now. Not a step in the right direction but at least they're expanding their line-up.
Yep...Colt has proven they can do the old super polish job....I'd think it would be a short jump to use high carbon steel and a bluing technique that would bring it out....personally, I can do without another "tactical" finish...especially on one of their superbly functioning revolvers. YMMv, Rod
