If a 300 boobytrap finds its way into a mag full of 5.56 it may slam into place while fireing. That is my best guess as to why they have been blowing up .
We should at least be aware and encourage loaders to make ammo that is long enough and solidly crimped.
Absolutely. Here is a demo for this specific case though. The primary concern here would be a bench with mixed mags and ammo, and someone grabs the wrong one since the mags are the same. Organization and paying attention is the simple prevention. http://youtu.be/Dq2TjenPWmQYour point being that we all must ensure that we shoot the proper ammunition in our firearms.
Wow that's a groundbreaking revelation! I'm so glad you brought that to our attention.
FYI 7.62x39 will chamber and headspace on THE BULLET in a 243! There ya go more panic for you to ponder
posted via that mobile app with the sig lines everyone complaints about
Everybody needs a 5.56 AR. But if you have both 5.56 and 300 boobytrap its only a matter of time untill you or someone you care about grabs the wrong magazine ....Kaboom!!!
Or just don' buy the boobytrap .
Quit drinking the Kool-aid. Open a book for some education instead.Don't buy a plethora ethier.
The length and shoulder are a product of the requirement to fit in a standard mag. These dimensions have been shown to work well by the 300 whisper for a while. Yes, there is a higher risk of swapping cartridges, but it is not an inevitable situation. If you are that concerned, get a 7.62x40 WT and shave the ribs in the magThank you Collector0311. Color codeing and awareness are a very good sugestion. It will be even better when ammo makers at least crimp properly or better yet standardize a longer case.
