I am not at my best. Had a ischial stroke 3.5 yrs ago. Balance is crap and left side weakness. Fell backward in garage last Sat and wife found me with my head and shoulders under the car. The wrong way to get a micro-meal out of a garage freezer.
Short story: had a brain bleed...fell again as soon as she got me into the house; called 911 and saved my life.
Now in rehab facility for a few wks and then home again.
Thanks all for nice wishes.
Don

So sorry. I hope you recover, sir. 👍

Hi, I'm new to this site and forums in general. I recently bought a 3D printer and have been considering building a pistol. I intend to do everything above board so to speak. It's legal where I am and there is nothing else barring me from ownership. However I have found it pretty difficult to find any real information on the how to's of it all given that most platforms don't allow the content and or I'm not trying to go to some "dark web" site or anything else that could be seen as trying to conceal what I'm doing. If someone could kindly point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Welcome @Mike8901 ! As the "front porch", this section is just set up for brief introductions and your inquiry will be seen by only a few. I am not aware of any section dealing specifically with printed guns, but I do know that 3D printing is being discussed as a potential topic area. Please check out the THR primer and stay tuned for further developments.

Hello, everyone. My name is Tom and I'm new to the High Road.

I have been shooting since age 24, or roughly for 10 years now (not my fault - grew up in New Jersey).

I reload my own ammo and collect firearms.

I can't wait to discuss firearms- and reloading-related matter with y'all. ^.^

Welcome to the community, @leantom ! We come from many walks of life, but we love our guns and shooting them. Cruise through the THR primer when you have a chance, and have a look around. We look forward to hanging out with you.

Hi Guys, new kid here (a kid of 66 years). I own a Ruger Security 9 for home defense and because of a very bad back, a Ruger LCP-Max for EDC. I wish I could carry larger but the spine says “No”. I live in CT where the restrictive rules increase every year.
I’m somewhat of a newlywed (2 years) to a beautiful gal. She is 100% a 2A supporter and loves the fact that I have the means to defend us. It’s great to have a supportive wife.
Looking forward to shooting the breeze with you fine folks.

Welcome to the group, @steambc ! We are glad to have you with us. It matters not what guns you choose or use. We just hope you will enjoy your time here, learn a few things and help out with your firearms experience. Check out the THR Primer, and you are good to go.

Welcome, steambc! I am a kid of 64 myself, and I live in a state that is a lot more firearm friendly. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the kinds of restrictive 2A rules you must live under. You are fortunate to have a supportive wife - it sounds like you picked well, or she picked well or something. ;)

Good evening, everyone.

Thank you for adding me to the forum. I am very pleased to be here.

I live in the UK and have been shooting for 19 years, mainly Roe deer and pest control in Scotland where we have a small family forestry business.

I shoot a Ruger Hawkeye .243 and a (new) Bergara B14 win .270 which I am just starting load development on. Both moderated.

I have been reloading for 15 years and hope to pick your brains for advice, esp. on the 270.

I also shoot a Ruger 10/22 and a CZ .22. My son and I also shoot a couple of O/U shotguns for game, and pest control.

I am looking forward to picking up some new knowledge and contributing where I can :) .

Thank you.

Welcome, @Obi Wan Reloadi ! We enjoy hearing from our brothers in arms from across the pond. You clearly have experience and wisdom we can use, and I hope you will find something helpful in our reloading and rifle country sections. Please tour the THR primer when you have a moment, and make yourself at home.

Welcome aboard, @O/SN ! We are happy to have you sign on/in. We look forward to learning from you and passing along useful information See THR Primer when you have time, and check out areas of interest.

Welcome, OS/N. You joined one of the more civil gun/shooting/reloading forums, and there's a wealth of information here.

New member here just introducing myself. My wife and I are just getting into handguns. I have a little experience with rifles and shotguns, but she is new to firearms. The biggest problem is that we live in New Jersey! We have applied for permits but it's very complicated and time-consuming. Still, we know it can be done and we are pressing on.

Welcome to the community, brontodon ! Handguns are challenging, but it is better to get good training at the front end than to try to break bad habits. We hope the regulatory climate will improve in the future, but these things tend to go in cycles. Check out the THR primer when you have a chance. It's good to have you with us.

Welcome, Holy! I don't know how exciting our knowledge is, but it was gained over many hours of shooting, reloading, collecting and experimenting. We are glad you are joining up! Please check out the THR primer thread when time permits, and exercise your powers of kindness and patience to make this a better place!
