Hi
1st post. I've been lurking for a few weeks now. I have always wanted an 1858 Remington. That was until I saw the Ruger Old Army. I've been saving my coins (hiding them from my daughters!) to treat myself to something fun. I'm a "long gun" guy/hunter that doesn't own anything else .... until tonight! Woohoo!! :D I picked up a new Ruger Old Army this evening. Satin S.S. with adjustable sights. I'm planning on getting the .45 conversion cylinder very soon. I have A LOT to learn but I know I can find it here. I am familiar with black powder rifles as I am a Thompson Center owner but I am as green as they come regarding BP revolvers. I'll be asking a lot of questions.

Thanks
Dave

Greetings and welcome Dave :)

Peruse this BP forum and I think you'll find some good into info - in particular look for a thread by gatofeo - who posted a great sorta ''BP 101"

The ROA is the elite of BP revo's and I have yet to find an owner who does not love them.

Good luck with the Ruger. You have started off with the best, most practical percussion revolver ever made.

Welcome aboard.
