I h ad been kicking around getting a CZ Huglu Ringneck in 20 gauge for quite a while. When I got an E-mail from the NRA with a 10% off coupon on any regularly priced firearm at Gander Mountain, I thought "That would knock off about $100"

This was the only one in stock, had a couple of 28 gauges, which if they didn't have the 20 I would of bought one of them.

The wood is decent if a bit plain, and the color case hardened side plates set it off nicely. Trigger has quite a bit of take up to a heavy 6-7lbs of pull. But for a lower priced SxS quite acceptable. Single brass front bead, might replace it eventually with a Bradley white front and install a mid bead sometime in it's future. I am partial to the prince-of-wales pistol grip stocks, just enough grip and maneuverability to handle well, and just sleek enough to carry well bird hunting.

Going to take it out tomorrow and shoot a few rounds of skeet with it and run it through it's paces. It feels very nice and lively in my hands, hope to shoot a couple 25's with it first time out.

Congratulations on the new Ringneck! For me, there is
not much in the shooting world more satisfying, that hunting or shooting clays with a nice side by side.

Just shot 2 rounds of skeet, a bit windy today with targets plunging and rising dramatically, still managed a pair of 23's. I like this gun, comes up nice and shoots close to where I am pointing it.

One word of caution... side by sides can become a very expensive addiction.

Gonna agree with you there, I bought a nice SKB SxS last fall that was over twice what I payed for this CZ, thought it felt right, shoots extremely flat, about in the negative. I prefer a gun that is 60/40 or 65/35, the SKB shoots about 40/60 patterns, I really have to work to make up the difference in height patterns. This CZ runs about 50/50 to 55/45, at least in how my targets were breaking, haven't got the pattern board out for this one yet. I think the SKB is going to be up for sale here shortly.

Here is the SKB. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/new-bring-home.810905/

I've got one. Looks just like yours. My wife gave it to me for our 25th anniversary.
It started out as an Armsco, importer before CZ began to handle them. I had the stock shortened 3/4" and a Pachmayer "Old English" recoil pad installed and fitted.
Loved it!
However; after several hundred rounds, it started "doubling". I had it looked at by a Browning authorized gunsmith who couldn't fix it. I finally had the dealer who my wife bought it from send it back for factory service. Six months had lapsed and no gun! The dealer contacted the company and was referred to CZ, who had taken over US importation and marketing for Huglu.
It was kind of funny as the CZ rep he talked to said that they had been trying for months to find out who the gun belonged to as they had no documentation on the gun.
A week later, the dealer called me to tell me my gun was back.
Good news; got gun back. Bad news, they sent me a NEW GUN! They said mine couldn't be repaired so I got another gun. CZ even sent me my recoil pad in box with new gun. Wish they had sent me my old barrels, however. My old one with left barrel shot slugs to poi/poa at 50yds, and right barrel with imp-mod choke tube patterned 100% at 40yds with a "0" buck load I load. Killed several pigs and deer with it. New barrels don't shoot slugs so well.
I cut stock to match my recoil pad so all is well. I've even shot a couple of 23's with it at skeet, to. I too have replaced the front bead with an Ivory bead and installed a mid bead as I had on the previous one. If I hadn't bought a Yildiz .410 O/U and a Charles Daley 20 pump, the Huglu sXs would be my most used gun as I hunt frequently on some US Corp of Eng. property that doesn't allow centerfire rifles or pistols.
BTW, I use one load. 17.5gr LongShot, Remington RP wad in 2-3/4" hull. Use a Win AA wad for round ball load...our just cheap factory 6's for squirrels.

Sweet looking SxS! I like the Prince of Wales grip design as well. Very vintage in appearance!

I have one of these as well, it is in .410 with a fixed mod and full choke, single trigger. I have manged a couple of 25's with it, but it is work. The trigger was/is my main complaint, about 11 pounds on a 5.5lb gun. Had a Gander Mtn authorized gunsmith tell me he couldn't/wouldn't work on it. I set a mid bead on it and shot some .410 slugs through it, only about 4" apart at 50 yards also, very well regulated. It was a my poor man's express rifle.

Kudu- I have the exact same gun. I have been using mine as my main match shotgun in SASS competitions for over 6 years now. Before that I had the same gun from DeHaan shotguns, but with more ornate engraving. It got stolen so I replaced it with the CZ. My Ringneck has been slicked up for competition, but I still have difficulty with the hulls dropping free. I love the CCH and my wood is pretty as well. I predict you will like it.
