Hello all. Saw this up at a local pawn shop yesterday... traded an old Glock for it. I've really wanted a GI-type 1911 lately, and just had to snag this used old chunk of steel. My research has indicated these Phillipine Armscors work beautifully, I'll be bringing it to range soon to see for myself. I've hand cycled a bunch of UMC 230gr JHP through it using the one supplied mag (a Shooting Star), so far so good. Everything seems to function great. The trigger pull seems pretty good, a bit of takeup but with a nice crisp break.
The finish on the slide is worn almost to the point of looking like polished stainless now, looks like this thing spent a lot of time going in and out of a holster. Other than being dirty, the bore was in great shape, and looks pretty again after the application of some Hoppes #9 and elbow grease.
I'll update after the range trip.
