Hello all. Saw this up at a local pawn shop yesterday... traded an old Glock for it. I've really wanted a GI-type 1911 lately, and just had to snag this used old chunk of steel. My research has indicated these Phillipine Armscors work beautifully, I'll be bringing it to range soon to see for myself. I've hand cycled a bunch of UMC 230gr JHP through it using the one supplied mag (a Shooting Star), so far so good. Everything seems to function great. The trigger pull seems pretty good, a bit of takeup but with a nice crisp break.

The finish on the slide is worn almost to the point of looking like polished stainless now, looks like this thing spent a lot of time going in and out of a holster. Other than being dirty, the bore was in great shape, and looks pretty again after the application of some Hoppes #9 and elbow grease.

I'll update after the range trip.

I bought one of these about a year ago new. It has been a great gun. Have never had a feed or ejection problem. I carry it everyday.
Only problem is you don't see it advertiesed or talked about much. Imho it is a very over look gun. Hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine. Let us know

Filipinos make good pistols. :)

I've got one on my 'must buy' list, trying to sway my wife away from the Springfield RO to an Amscor, probably a RIA. Just going to have to see if my range can get a RIA Tacticle in as she doesn't like the GI sights much. (or else I can learn how to change out the sights if worst come to it!)

Awesome find. I'd be tempted to have teh slide bead blaseted and re-colored, but wear marks on a 1911 give it even more character.

if you have problems with it, check the mags before you get upset with the gun. most 1911 issues are mag related. (I mention it because my uncle bought a RIA in much the same shape at a pawn shop, and it was a frustrating jam-o-matic until I handed him a new magazine. then it ran great)
