She's a beaut, great purchase! My MK II with a standard barrel is all nicked up and ugly but ridiculously accurate. If I had to choose between it or my 17-3, the Smith would go away.

If I had a decent 17-3, I don't think I could say that, even though I really like the Mk II.

I think overall the handsomest .22 pistol ever.

I would agree with that as Ruger .22 pistols go but would take exception with pistols like the Colt Woodsman Match Target, Browning Medalist, S&W Model 41, Hammerli 208, and High Standard Victor being equally handsome as far as good looks go!

if the front sight screw is loose, blue loc tite works wonders. mine kept coming loose and I finally got tired of it.

nice shootin iron, by the way!

I lost my Mark 1 Bull barrel Bicentenial issue in a house fire and miss it dearly.:(

You are going to love that one.

The Ruger Mark series, generally, is pretty hard to beat. I need to get one with a bull barrel. Mrs. McGee has one, and I really like it.

I recently picked up a MKI with a 5 1/2" bull barrel. Have read many times over the years how people really liked the balance of the 512's, and now having one, I understand why. Mine sits well in the hand.

I never liked those "holster-ripper" front sights. Fortunately, the ramp front sight from the Ruger Single Six is a workable replacement. It fits perfectly if you lightly grind the bottom of the sight to match the barrel diameter. (There's a Dremel grinding stone with that exact diameter.) (This applies to the bull barrel version.)
