Anyone else see this stuff? Seems interesting, but I have a hard time picking it over federal. Especially when 9mm fed is $8.97 and the swiss stuff was something like $14.

However, its 124 grain for 9mm. What I dont know is who the manufacturer is and if this company is reputable. Any experiences? Anyone see calibers other than 9mm, maybe perhaps .45 or .223/5.56?

Sidenote, when I asked the clerk about it I was trying to figure out why it was so much more expensive (thinking it was JHP or something, which it isnt), and he said "yeah full metal jacket, 124 grain, but I dont know why you would ever need a bullet THAT heavy"

:banghead::uhoh::scrutiny:

yep, my walmart had a bunch a few weeks back selling for 16 a box. Shot through 200 rounds of it today, good stuff. Worked well in my guns and I bought it for range use anyway. Not going to ever be my SD ammo but good for the range when everything else is sold out. Seems it is being reduced in price 12 dollars now.

Also I am assuming your talking about the Black and Orange box RWS I think is the company.

It is basically Swiss made 9mm NATO & match grade stuff. I have bought a lot of it, but it is more expensive here $16.97 a box I think. I hope it drops here that would be nice, but I doubt it will since the .45acp WWB value packs just went up agains to $34.97 apiece.

I picked up a couple boxes last night in 9mm. It had just been marked down to $12 from $17. I haven't shot any yet, but the brass is nicely polished.

RWS formerly GECO I believe. High quality stuff. Their 9mm should be closer to NATO spec, much hotter than the standard wimpy stuff that our domestic manufacturers produce. Expect it to be a little hotter than WWB.

It's RWS, they make match grade rimfire ammo and I have to say, so farit's the most acurate 9mm ammo i've shot out of my PXstorm.

Is it actually marked as being made in Switzerland? RWS/Dynamit Nobel is a German company, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't have manufacturing facilities elsewhere. Just wondering.

GECO is the abbreviation of Gustav Genschow & Co., subsidiary of the Company, founded 1912, former manufacturer of pistol and revolver cartridges.
Since April 2002, the Swiss ammunition manufacturer RUAG Munition and Dynamit Nobel AmmoTec in Germany have merged their ammunition businesses and now form the RUAG Ammotec company – the new key player in ammunition technology and from January 2005 Gustav Genschow "Nobel" is renamed RUAG Ammotec Austria.

I decided to go to the Renton (ghetto) Walmart to see if they had any and I bought 2 boxes of 9mm and 2 boxes wwb 100 round 380 acp. Pretty sweet find especially to get 2 value packs of 380. ~$98 including tax.

Ammo looks sweet and if it's accurate and loaded as hot a NATO spec I'm interested. If it's more accurate than wwb then I'll keep a nice stock of it.

OAL?

Somebody drag out their calipers and tell me the OAL of this stuff!

Also be nice if some one runs it over a chrono and comes up with actual numbers for the velocity.

GECO has some gunk around the primer and I don't think is made to the same quality spec as the RWS ammo, not to say though that it isn't great ammo as well. I think they are both made in the same place, just to slightly different quality specs, both are loaded at NATO level 124gr. @ 1181fps from 4" barrel.

I picked some up a couple months ago because I saw the made in Switzerland badging, then I came home and looked up the website, RWS has a website detailing the load specs.

I've been buying it since, great stuff.

I used to get RWS shotshells for a 2 3/16 chamber A5 I have. I was in WalMart the other day and saw they had the RWS and it was about $13 a box, 124g. I bought a bunch, figuring it would be high quality stuff, and if i shoot it in my SIG I would get the extra 100% SWISS complete karma bonus while shooting.

Well I shot about 120 rds today and the stuff was impecable. Really nice ammo, clean, not to hot, reliable... I will be going back to get more tomorrow.

+1 to the RWS.

Shibby, so they had some at the ghetto-mart (tm) in Renton? how much (what size box)? Any .45, too? last time I was there for ammo not anything common in sight. Checked a WM up north on I-5 two weeks ago. Saw this brand but in no common calibers.

oro

yeah they had quite a few boxes of RWS in 9mm, at least 15 more after I left. 50 round boxes only for the RWS, about $12/50. No .45 at all. They also had 2.5 shipping boxes full of federal .40.
