Last week paid just under $17, yesterday paid just under $13.

Shoots great in the pistols I've tried it in, very accurate and noticeably more umph compared to Remington Green box.

With all due respect to Tyrannosullyrex: You should not ever find any pistol ammo with steel jackets at Walmart.

If you did, their home office would like to hear about it I am sure. Their corporate policy does not permit such.

Yeah my Walyworld just marked it down to $12.47, I believe. The sporting goods employee said it was because absolutely no one was buying it.

Do you have to buy Range ammo (purchase the ammo from them to shoot in their range)? Or do they wanna limit you to using lead only or the "Green" ammo? As far as I know it's got a copper jacket on it.

GECO used to be the "lowball" practice ammo through Dynamit Nobel at one time (early '90s?), if I remember correctly. Good stuff, was shocked when I saw *anything* marked "RWS" at a Wal-Mart!!!!

Both boxes I bought have copper jackets.
It's lead, then steel, then copper. Stick a magnet on it. I thought of putting one through the band saw to check it out, but I shot the box I had (outdoors).

No, they just had a box out at several indoor ranges around here that said, "we don't allow this" in some way, shape or form.

edit: They are called GMCS bullets (gilding metal clad steel), just looked it up.

Hmmm, interesting. Maybe someone else can/would chop one for photo purposes.

Good to hear they've been makring it down in price. I will have to go check my walmart at lunch tomorrow and maybe pick up 4 or 5 boxes.

Just picked them up for a bit under $13. In 9mm at 124gr and if what you all say is true being more like NATO spec... sign me up. Love it, and would buy consistently.

They had plenty of WWB and the UMC stuff too. I haven't seen that in a long time. Always seem to have .40S&W but the other stuff has been low or non-existent for months.

To Tyrannosullyrex:

I stand corrected on this one.
Where did you find the info that RWS/DN does GMCS products? I can't seem to come up with it.

Like the man said, we learn something new here everyday.

I'll be darned.
I pulled a magnet off of the refrigerator, and it pulls pretty darn hard at the RMS bullet. No pull what so ever on the UMC, Federal FMJ, or WWB.

Very interesting. I knew there had to be a catch.

When I went to the range and saw the RWS box with "not allowed" on it. I googled it right there and sho' nuff, it's on glocktalk, calgun, etc. Luckily I had another box of WWB to shoot.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer (RWS/DN/RUAG) webpage that discusses their bullet construction?

Based on the magnet test, the steel jacket is no doubt correct, but I would love to see the firm's specs.

Sounds great to me except.... I do believe I will get thrown in jail as this would be classified as AP in NJ. Can not have rounds that attract a magnet.

Damn... I really like the stuff. I better shoot all I bought while I am in WV.

I bought 12 boxes at 2 local Walmarts today. Looks like great stuff. Trying to get to the range today to test it out.

I have 200 rounds of it now, and really want to get to shooting it when the weather gets real warm over here.

My experience with 150 rounds I shot today was very positive. Cleaner, and more accurate than the blazer brass I also shot.

My BHP and d CZ P01 both ate it without a hiccup. Seemed to have a bit more behind it than the blazer but I did not have a chrono so it could have been as much perception as reality.

At $12.98 a box it is very good practice ammo since so many of us shoot 124 grain for self defense.

My local Walmarts have tons of the stuff. Its about $1 more per 100 than WWB. There is no federal to be found in my neck of the woods so given the choice I would buy this stuff over the WWB.
