Which are brighter, fiber optic or tritium? Are tritium bright enough to still be useful during the day? Will fiber optic pick up enough light to be useful when it's nearly dark?

The TruGlo TFO sight will give you the best of both worlds because IMO the answer to your questions are no on both counts.

Apples and oranges.

The Tritium sights are made to be visible in the dark.
The fiber optics are made to be highly visible in the sun, but do nothing at all in the dark.

Tritium night sights appear as fairly normal white dot sights in daylight.
Then glow green, orange, or yellow in the dim darkness when the goblins come out.

Meproite & Trijicon night sights are guaranteed to glow for 12 years.
TruGlo for five, maybe.

I second the above posts, and would like to add that I think fiber optic sights are generally a waste of money if your main concern is low light visibility. Tritium sights look like bright white dots in the day light, therefore plenty visible.
