I have an Armalite AR10A4 with a fixed stock. I just ordered a "Collapsible Buttstock" from Armalite. It does not really collapse all the way down. It just shortens the stock by 2", which is what I am meaning to accomplish as in some seated positions. the stock is too long for me.

I know old NJ law defined an Assault Weapon as any rifle with a detachable mag possessing 2 of the below items:

- Pistol Grip
- Flash Suppressor
- Bayonnet Lug
- Over 15 round mag

When the AWB Sunsetted, did NJ law change as well? Should I return this and just get an ACE Boom Tube shorter stock?

Thanks for your help in advance.

NJ's law did not change, and probably will never change (unless it's "strengthened).

I would "un-order" that component ASAP. New Jersey does not screw around with "Assault Firearms" as they term it, and the law is being and continues to be aggressively enforced. Any collapsible buttstock + firearm with normal buttstock and detachable mag = parts that can be readily assembled into an "assault firearm" which in turn equals three to five years in jail.

Do yourself a favor and cancel the order, because you could get into serious trouble if you don't. Even just having it in your house without attaching it to the rifle is highly illegal.

Yikes (when was the last time you heard that word?

O.K., will un-order the part tomorrow. Anyone got experience wih ACE Boom Tube Stocks? When I shoot off-hand, if I want to form a cradle with my elbow resting on my hip to cradle the forerm, the stock is about 2 inches too long.

I figure if I go for the shorter fixed ACE stock, I should solve that problem. Am I right?

I would move if I could, but it's not in the cards now.

You can start by re-informing your NJ neighbors on the meaning of "Never Again". Kinda ironic, isn't it (and it goes way beyond the 2nd Amendment in NJ)?

Seems like you heard it already, but yes still in effect.

Remember to vote on Tuesday if you are a republican - I actually heard Forrester talk about making NJ a right to carry state on the radio.

Couldn't believe it.

NJ *might* have as much of a chance of becoming a right-to-carry state as California does, but in reality, probably far far less.

for what you want, the most versatile approach would probably be the RRA entery stock with and adjustable butt pad, and the armalite short buffer tube and increased mass buffer for the .308.

The simplest thing to try is an ARFX skeleton stock with no recoil pad. It's a teensy bit shorter than an A1 IIRC.
