1k seems to be my limit for acceptable round count.
A street truck engine will last around 7,000 hours.

A 1500 hp mud truck engine will last about 40 hours. warm up time, running time, WOT or not.
But there is no denying the performance!:)

I would get a lot more useful rounds out of a barrel than @Varminterror would, because I have bigger targets!:D

I've seen the calculations for barrel life the total is like 2 seconds. :(

Group size is still fine, but velocity is slipping terribly. I have a 6 creed with 2000 rounds on it right now, it’s still a 1/2-3/4” rifle at 100yrds. But it’s bleeding velocity so bad that I have to hold more at the end of a 100rnd match than I did at the beginning. Not serviceable for long range competition, even though 1,000yrd targets are often 3-4moa.

I’m not 100% sure I think 22 creed will be worse than 243win, and I used to expect to lose speed around 900 with 243. I don’t necessarily expect 22-250 to last as long even as 6 creed, and as mentioned, I just barely hang on for barrels to be stable at 1100-1200. So maybe I’m being too conservative to think 300 between the two is too much, or maybe I’m being too generous with barrel life on the 22 creed, but I just don’t think the gap between 22-250 and 22 creed is 300rnds wide.

But that’s also living on a standard of “bleeding velocity = dying,” and effectively losing >15fps/100rnds = stone cold dead. Any of them which starts out at 1/2” groups at 100yrds will likely carry 2,000rnds sub-MOA.

I would do a .22-250 AI, with a 1-7”twist.
This will allow heaviest.22 bullets to stabilize but also use lighter loaded lighter bullets without limitations.
Established, standardized dies, reamers, components and data.
No significant difference ballistically from .22CM.
(But what fun is that???).
yes that is what I did and works perfectly and very accurate with 60 grain to 90 grain verylowdrag bullets.

And you can shoot factory .22-250 which perfectly fireforms the cases ! Mine shoots those factory ammo decently too .
