Norma USA - Ammo Can Blowout

I've bought a bunch of the surplus ones from a guy that used to set up at the gun shows. Used to be $8, then $10...most recently $12 each for the 50 cal cans. Asked him one time if I could get a bulk discount...he said "yeah, I'll knock off 2 bucks a can if you take a whole pallet." Turns out there's a couple hundred on a pallet. I didn't need that many and usually just get 4 or 5 at a time. Man, I really need one of those label makers though.

Somewhere along the way, I ended up with this one IMG_20240124_203534831.jpg
It's brown. Kinda clashes with all the green ones and it's pretty rough on the outside, but spotless inside. The only one I can remember the exact contents of.

I've been buying Norma 9mm locally for $200/1000. They've been offering deals.

I like going to major gun shows & buying the junk cans that they sell cheap. Because all it takes is a little sand blasting, painting & a gasket replaced then I have new looking cans to store my ammo in for way less.
Until the spot welds on the handle break & you cannot lift it.

I received 10 of the 15 cans I ordered and they are high quality.

I hope the other 5 arrive this week

I honestly have never had a spot weld break. I have cans from probably the 70s to newer ones from midway. Haven't seen any surplus ones for a couple years. The new cans seem to have good spot welds. I'll compare these when I get them. I don't carry full of ammo everyday but have a few that have been in the bed of my old pickup full of tools.

I don't the 30 and 50 cal cans too small. I like the big cans used for 20mm/40mm, a much better size IMHO. When full they are about all I can lift but I don't move them often and they are a bit more efficient to fill.

Got the first half of mine in today and these are the real deal. They have a some minor scratches from being stacked in storage, but otherwise 100% new with excellent gaskets. Can anyone tell me what these markings mean?

I got this label maker recently.

Does a good job. Very convenient.
Great instructions included. Not written in Engrish.
I was able to use it without reading the instructions.
Requires six AAA batteries.
If you wanna run it off 120 AC, you gotta buy a separate power adapter unless you already have a 9-volt adapter lying around.
The labels stick very nicely to uneven surfaces such as the textured surfaces found on plastic gun cases.
Comes with one label cartridge.

Or it just means the Chinese made a rote copy of whatever product they were duplicating, and their copy-specimen had those markings on it.

I have about 100 counterfeit Gucci knives that I bought for 10% of the price. Most of them have markings that look pretty convincing, even though they are 100% fake. The chinese are very good at copying things. Amazing that they find enough profit margin in ammo cans to fake them. Who knows, maybe they are actually BETTER than the originals.

I've been told that if you open a dozen freshly-painted ammo cans, and huff the vapor that comes out of them as you open them, you will talk to God.

In Minecraft.

Have a Harbor Freight nearby....the metal ammo can's go on sale often for $12 so I just grab them and tak'em home. Like Ron above, though, I have a problem where I always have a few more than I need and still find it hard to walk by the display.

As of January 30, the maximum number of cans I could order was 3. I found other stuff to qualify for free shipping, but most of the 9mm was out of stock.

I suspect that they sold a lot of cans!

My Wife bought me that exact model! Its as handy as a shirt pocket! But I didn't know about the super sticky tape that was mentioned in another thread.

For us old guys who can't pick those things up when fully loaded anymore.

But for those who can, that's a good deal.
Yeah, I have some that are full of ammo and they get harder to move every year!!! I also have 12 or more full of lead ingots that I keep on the bottom shelf of my work bench. They are heavy! Out of curiosity I guess I should weigh a few of them!

Two of three cans were received today. One had slight crease and apparently was packed that way. Seemed like good quality, but they must be paying a fortune in shipping individual cans. The contents were well packed, and I am looking forward to testing the Norma match and tac ammo.
