North Carolina purchase permits

IRRC all the info you give the sheriff for a pistol permit MUST be kept by the sheriff and NEVER EVER destroyed.

It also must be turned over the DOJ.

It must also be open to inspection from any state or Federal leo at any time.

That state sucks.

That is true but if the sheriff knows you have a CHP, then he knows you have a gun of some type.

:uhoh:

I've shot at On Target...and although I don't know the owner very well...he seems to be a good guy. I recently bought 2 long guns form Rex's..another great bunch of folks...Prices Creek is a good place...no-nonsense, good ol country folk!
Cline-Bradley Inc is a small hardware store in Waynesville that can order thru Davidson's...and they hold the Davidson's website prices....I just picked up 2 Vaqueros (old model) from them for 395.99 each.

I recently spoke with a gentleman that has a range in the Lake Lure area...sounds like a nice place to go shoot. They have a local meeting in Arden twice a month...I plan to attend the next one so I can get to know the folks.
I barely have room to shoot here at home...but the locals don't care for it...I was a mamber of the Asheville Rifle and Pistol club a few years back...but I didn't encounter many friendly folks...and the schedule often had no-shows for range officers, thus no shooting....very disappointing!
I finally have time to try to improve my shooting skills...and the range at Lake Lure sounds inviting...especially after trading emails with the owner...they seem like a nice bunch. I'm also considering local CAS events.
I'm on the east side of Asheville...near Warren Wilson College...so Lake Lure is not too far...and I can kill 2 birds by riding the "steel horse" to the shooting range. (Harleys are my other passion).
