MD, that's pretty nice :)

Someday I will too be able to have a firearm.
45 days since I applied and counting

Thats ok Matt , we will forgive you , you if anyone deserve it for all the hard work you have put in .
I'm just blowing all my money on ammo , lots of ammo , I'm gonna have a hell of a range session here soon (-:

you might hear a couple , cant do too much at home though the landlady doesnt like it . but a few test rounds would be ok .

Well since you asked...I picked up a S&W M&P 40 CW a couple of weeks ago at Kesselrings. S&W has a promotion on right now for 2 extra free clips (total 4).

I tried the Glock 26, 27 but the grip was too short for my hand.
Was seriously looking at the Kahr CW40 but I didn't like the feel of the mushy trigger. I also considered the Glock 36, but it only held 6 (maybe 7) rounds.

Happy with my purchase. I've put about 300 rounds through it.

You guys may want to start purchasing your ammo now if you know what cal gun you'll be getting. Ammo is very scarce.

Christmas Presents at last freed from lock up.

XDM 40S&W shoots great, fits me better than a Glock, and just feels good to shoot. Since I test fired this and a bunch of others out of state of course before I chose this.

Robinson Arms XCR in 5.56 NAT0 18.6" barrel with 1 in 9 twist with Midwest Industries Flip up BUIS and Eotech 552 Red Dot HoloSight, Front Grip, rail covers, with a Standard GI 30 round Mag attached. I also have the 7.62x39 Barrel and bolt for the XCR Barrel/Bolt switch takes about 90 seconds, and zero is maintained on the sights too.

The dear wife also got me 2000 rounds of both the 5.56mm and 7.62mm. and 1000 rounds of 40S&W too.

Wow. Merry Christmas! I am looking forward to getting a SA .45 Compact. Wish it was a "M" model too. I am toying with getting a 9mm XDM though instead. Also on the "to aquire" list is a Ruger LCP, Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter, Rem 870, Stag Arms 2T, Browning Buck Mark Contour, possibly a Beretta 87 Target. I would also really like a Baikal IZH-35M if I can find one.
That's about all I figure I can sneak by my wife initially. :)
But, with no AFL, I am just stuck with my Baikal IZH 46M Match air pistol. It's fun, but a semi-auto would be more fun. <g>

We got 2 870's with the extended mags, for our trip to Alaska (bear vs. Magnum Slug, I take the slug).

Next on the list are an XDm in 9mm for the wife (so at worst if something happens we can cannibalize). a 30-06 Browning BAR (for majority of hunting), a Bolt 338 Win-Mag (for Grizzly and Moose), and if persuasion, and bank account allows a Barrett M82A1 with Leupold and BORS :D for long range home defense :scrutiny:

Since I reload too, all I'd need for the Barrett is a new Press, Dies, Primers, brass and bullets and maybe get the round cost down from $4-$5/round

Ahh, finally got mine in last Thursday, I was starting to get excited, but seeing the other Thurston County folks I guess I should relax a bit. I have plans for a low end .45 in the near future, DOL willing . . . . . . Lets hope the bill goes through his session too. Cheers.

Puyallup gun show this weekend , I doubt my AFL will be in by then but I can go drool and cuss over the prices

Is this gunshow worth going to? Are good deals to be had? Is this a Washington Arms Collector's show? If so, you need to be a member to purchase, correct? Are there any other local shows that are not WAC shows? Never been to a gun show, so sorry for all the questions.

Yes it is a WAC show and you have to be a member to buy firearms , not a problem in my case as I cant buy anything yet anyway , but everything else is good to go , they sometimes have good deals but as with everwhere else price gouging is evident , best deals to be had are on ammunition , parts and private sales , good opportunity to check out all the new merchandise though .

Heads up people !

HB1052-2009-10 is still out there, lets get this thing done before the cut off !!

MD

at last they set a date , was wondering if it was going to just disappear . havent had any replies back from the last lot of emails I sent but hopefully they are listening .

Guys
Quick question. Sorry if it is stupid.
I don't have my AFL yet, (soon, I hope as it has been 30 days now since applying and background check) but is it possible (legal) to purchase a gun in my name from an auction site (Gunbroker), and have it sent to an FFL dealer and have them hold it for me until I get my AFL? Alternatively, could I purchase from auction site and get a friend to pick it up and keep it for me until I get my AFL? Would it still be okay to purchase in my name if I have someone else pick it up when it arrives?
Just really tired of passing up some hand guns I really would like.

Im not sure about the FFL route but getting someone else to hold them could be seen as a straw purchase , I feel your pain but I think we just need to wait , I technically cant touch the guns I already own let alone buy more .

Heads up, AFL just arrived in the mail. It took a little over six weeks. So, I will be out shopping for some H&K tomorrow.

I am in Kitsap county. The major delay seemed to have been the police department. They did not forward my application to the DOL and kept waiting for the fingerprint card to come back. After the application arrived at the DOL it took them another two weeks to process, print and send the AFL.
