NRA question

Things to think about:

1. Where would we be without a strong organization like the NRA to defend our 2nd Amendment rights?

2. Join or upgrade to a life membership (there is a post on this or one of the firearm sites that indicates you can now upgrade or join for $300 and it can be paid in installments. I'm not sure if it is current but you can at least check)

3. Recycle the "junk mail" so it can be used again and not be dumped into a landfill or call them to ask them to stop sending it.

What organization can fight a good fight with out cash flow? None of them. If it pains you so to open a piece of mail to find out that someone is needing a little money to keep fighting the good fight maybe you should change hobbies. If you don't want to contribute to the cause then throw the mailing away, use it as a fire starter or whatever. Life is to short to be worring about junk mail as if the NRA was the only one that sends you mail you don't want. I don't want my Utility Bill but I send them money because I want to keep my electricity. I also want to Keep my Guns and Gladly send the NRA what it would cost for one Resturant meal. I became a Life Member through the EZPay Life Membership. $25 every three months. I did it quicker than that but I also continue to support them when I can.

I use walking to the trash can as part of my exersize program. It isn't taking off much weight but it makes me feel like I am doing something ;)

Here's Wishing you all A MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'm a life member and their mailings and phone calls do get annoying. But I always try to remember that we are more of a grass roots organization and the anti's have support from big wealthy anti gun fat cat socialist types along with the usual "professional protesters" and of course our friends in the "objective" media. They don't have to beg for money, hell they have it.

The one mailing I did get many years ago that infuriated me was when I got one of those little yellow postal notices that I had certified mail that I needed to sign for. After driving to the post office and standing in line for at least twenty minutes (going to any post office in my locale is right behind going to a shopping mall in the category of least favorite pastimes for me) I was incredulous to find that the certified letter was actually a NRA fundraising gimmick. I wrote a very strong letter and returned it in the postage paid envelope and didn't receive another one using that particular fund raising tactic.

Expect a renewal letter every single month or two as long as you are a member. They suck in that regard. I wonder how much they would save on postage if they just sent out the letters at the end of your membership.
