NRA vs PETA on Lewis Black tonight?

I watch Jon Stewart
As do I!
It’s a shame that “fake” news is VERY often more “on the point” than the “real” news, eh? While they do need to check other sources to get a balance (the truth often lay in the middle), I think it’s great that the younger generation watch Jon Stewart-maybe it’ll teach them to think a little more critically-ain’t much of the “real” news going to do that these days!
Didja see the interview with John Edwards where he stressed the point that no members of his family “in any way” had anything to do with his affair-camera cut back to Jon Stewart where he does one of those “what the hell was that” looks ‘bout 3 times before saying “nobody really thought they did! What…you think we thought your kids double-dared you to have an affair?”
Serves to point out what an idiotic statement it was (politicians just don’t know when to keep their mouth shut). If you had seen that interview on the “real” news, chances are his statement would have been allowed to slide.

I’m probably going to watch NRA vs. PETA again tonight as a critic-last night I just watched for entertainment. What did strike me was how difficult it was for them to make fun of the NRA (guess I shouldn’t be surprised). ‘Bout all the NRA is Evil stuff was so over the top that anyone with half a brain cell would realize it as such (do they really think gun owners shoot the paper boy, family members around the breakfast table, etc). PETA, however, seemed to be an easy target-guess good satire has to have an element of truth to it, no? After all, they have thrown paint on people; the founder (leader?) doesn’t believe we should be using Seeing Eye dogs (which appears to me to be a win-win situation as the dogs probably love it) etc.

Only thing that comes to mind that might influence less than critical thinkers out there was his statement ‘bout gun owners misreading the Constitution…the Supreme Court
recently said I think not! (Wonder who’s the more educated, intellectual, critical thinker…Antonin Scalia or Lewis Black?).

BTW…when the crowd was asked to vote on which was more evil, they obviously picked PETA. Wasn’t just my opinion, as Lewis Black said to the audience “as usual, you’re all wrong! The root of all evil is the NRA!”

Yeah, my PETA joining BIL thinks the CIA is headquartered in the Pentagon, our national debt began from unpaid fines that we owe the British government from the Revolutionary war, and that our debt is made larger because Vatican city doesn't pay taxes.

The scary part is that those morons' votes count the same as mine.

The guy arguing against PETA did a Charleton Heston impression he should have gotten double points for that since his opponent was arguing against the NRA.

Lewis Black with a noose around his neck would argue with the hangman whether a hemp rope was better than a cotton rope and then disagree with whatever was said. LB is proof that there is a G-d and he has a sense of humor.

Lewis Black is Anti gun and I strongly think that he set that up with stereotypes like "how many guns you can fit in your trailer" and is using actual non funny anti gun rants during his comedy show.

PhilDeGraves Says:
Lewis Black must know a definition of comedy that I am unfamiliar with. I thought comedy meant "humorous" or "funny". Silly me, what could I have been thinking...
A big +1. The guy is not funny.

The guy is not funny.

Funny, pleasant, tasty, pretty, are all subjective and a moot point to make. Live and let live is the Republic's philosophy, political correctness and enforcing an idea by any means belongs to leftist liberals and socialistic democracies.

I will go agaist the grain and say I find him very funny. I have been doing the angry comedy schtick since I was a wee lad so I can relate. I know he is a lefty, no one is perfect. This show however is BORING! It is his show and he doesn't speak more than a 1/3 of it and the guests are lame. His style of comedy would be better as a sitcom than a faux game show.

Im not sure what all that is getting at. Semantics I guess. But, "I" don't think he is funny. He is a personality. With the right direction, in a situation comedy where he is type cast and someone else writes the script, his character can be funny. However, left to his own devices I don't think the guy is funny. Please accept my sincerest apologies for not articulating more accurately. I will try to be more specific in the future. Now, where did I put my 47 page, personal opinion legal disclaimer.:neener:

Most comedians (Lewis Black included) are so ridiculously, over-the-top, I'll do anything for a laugh, holding absolutely NOTHING sacred, I've sworn most of them off. ...2¢

Yeah...at was pretty good and the crowd thought so also.
First time I ever heard of Lewis Black was seeing him do his "Back in Black" segments on the Jon Stewart's show. I think most of those segments are very good (he's forced to clean up his language for The Daily Show), but when I went looking for some of his CDs they don't get very good reviews due to the language. I did watch a couple of his acts on TV and wasn't impressed, again partially due to the language.

Guess he's better in small bites as on The Daily Show?

OOOOPS...gotta run!
Gettin' a text message on my cell phone and it might be Obama letting me know who his running mate is going to be!
