I like old military surplus weapons. I bought my first surplus rifle back in 1985. Or was it 1986? Anyway, it was a 1916 Spanish Mauser and I still have it.
But over the year I have found that the pretty surplus guns just don't appeal to me as much as the ones that show hard use. I'm not talking about rusted and broken guns, but the ones that still show the signs of use.
The military refurbished ones are alright and still have history in them, but the old War horses are still painted with history.
So if you like and have an Old War Horses post a pic of it.

Here are a few of mine.

I bought it for $125 last year and it has been sitting in the cornner since then. I would need to get some 6.5 Corcano dies and handload cast bullets for it.

Here's the first of what is sure to be many "old war horses" in the future...

All matching Mosin/Nagant M44. I have the sling as well, just not attached at the moment:

Nice bunch of history filled mil-surps..I would go into all mine but it would be more time than I have today. I just bought a 1916 Spanish and was wondering if you reload for it. Looking to start the easy way..with someone else's pet load..

Here's one of mine, built in 1878 by the Springfield Arsenal, it is chambered for the 45-70 cartridge. Still original and still accurate.

I also have a 50-70 but it has been severely altered from the way it was issued.
