I've been looking at compact polymer pistols lately to use as a CCW/Trail type gun and struggling with the decision between a M&P 40C, a Glock 29 or 30 or maybe even a sub-compact XD 40. I have recently decided that I may not be willing to give up the comfort or feel of the longer full-size grips in return for the concealibility of the sub-compact. I guess my real dilemma is that I really need to be looking at two guns, not one. I've ruled out the M&P 40C -just doesn't feel good in my hand; but the XD 40 sub-compact (which had been a distant 3rd choice) feels great with the extended magazine.
Now my title question:
I've always been interested in the Sig 225 and it's on my list of guns I'd like to own some day. My local gun store has a very clean P225 on consignment that I believe I could get for $375. It's comfortable to hold and I could CCW it for the time being. Eventually I could look for a polymer full size M&P (feels great in my hand!!!) or a Glock 20 or whatever would fill that niche at a later time and save a couple hundred dollars in the short run.
What do you think? P225 good idea/compromise? Bad idea/compromise? I'm looking forward to your opinions.
Thanks.
