I am still not sure that is correct, in Texas and in other states.
Private property owners can, it appears to me, give others permission to carry openly, concealed, or in any other manner they wish.
I have yet to see anyone show a legal reason why that would not be true, in Texas or anywhere else.
If the property owner of a church, whoever that might be, decided to authorize open carry in the church I am not sure it matters what the law is.
If I tell my visitors they may openly wear handguns inside my home, or out in the yard, show me why that would be illegal.
I can't seem to find any reason why it would be. Property rights do still exist in some fashion, though they are certainly in danger.
I'm thinking about having an open carry BBQ at my house, and can't think of a single reason why any law would be violated.
