CONCEALED CARRY! Why "advertise"? Why run the chance of someone trying to grab your exposed firearm?

The only "advertising" that should be done should be by your community or state! They should be loud and clear about the high percentage of citizens that have CCW permits....and the low crime rate that is directly attributed to the "armed citizenry"! "Advertise" the "Armed citizen uses justified deadly force to cut court costs by assisting an armed robber to his untimely demise"! news accounts!

Seriously, though....in the REAL world, even in communities and states that have exposed carry, there will still be "9-1-1" calls of "Man with a gun!". If your firearm is concealed, "Only the Shadow knows!"

I am fine with concealing but I wan't it so I wouln't get into trouble if the wind blows my jacket open or I reach up to grab something and my shirt rides up.

Any how I voted for combination cause I would open carry at work and where I have to keep my shirt tucked in.

Usually concealed, but sometimes it would be nice to not have to worry about it and just carry openly. Combination.

But I realy want to carry two, one open the Sig P-229. And the suprise gun Kahr
k-40 Concealed. That should cover most things. ;) I like to have my shirt tucked in
( long sleave button up Not knit ) I don't like to have my gun in a pocket even with a pocket holster. Most generally in the warmer weather I would just soon clip my IWB to my belt and leave. If I feel the need for covering I can just quickly pull out a shirt tail. Supposely in Michigan one can do that.

I like to practice common sense. I use both depending on the circumstances.

When open carrying, I'm not as concerned about scaring anyone as much as I am advertising "free gun" to certain individuals. Gas stations and stores I go concealed. Driving, walking around the block, out in the woods, in the yard, at home - open.

I prefer concealed, but for some people open carry is necessary.

In Oregon, open carry is legal, as is concealed carry. However, you have to be 21 to apply for a concealed permit. It is legal for anyone over 18 to possess a pistol, though not to buy one, as in I can let my 19 year old daughter use one of mine. Therefore, if you are over 18 but less than 21, open carry is your only option.

I have a 19 year old daughter who has had to fight off two attempted rapists in the last year. When she's out at night she carries my Steyer S9 (she's been through training and is an exceptionally mature 19 year old, she started college at age 14, I'm comfortable with her judgment). I'm glad to say that even in Eugene she's never had a problem with the police. She actually called the department and asked them, theeir response is that it's legal and they had no intention of bothering anyone who is doing something legal. Glad to see some sanity these days.

Interesting. Eugene PD gave someone else crap.

Make sure, however, that as a non-CHL holder she must follow the laws listed in ORS 166.370(1). CHL holders are exempt, non-CHL holders are not.

Here in Georgia we can legally carry open and concealed. I always carry IWB concealed. Just my preference. I think you are asking for problems carrying open.

I open carry at home all the time

but in MI it isnot a good idea to do this when out in public.:uhoh: Yes it is legal here but no one is use to it and you will draw unnecessary attention to yourself. In AZ I open carried a lot, :D when in the wild, :p riding motorcycle, :p any time I wanted to freak out the illegals, :neener: you should see them scatter when you wear a shoulder rig with extra clips.

Concealed carry is the best. We don't live in our dreamy euphoric world where everyone loves guns and gun owners. We all know most people would point and stare if they saw you with a gun on your hip.

CC all the way.

A Combination of BOTH please...

Open Carry when I can (with a concealed BUG)...

Concealed when I must (again, with a concealed BUG)...

An Armed Society is a Polite Society (IMO)...

I don't care what others think... They do not carry the responsibility of protection for my family...

Open Carry is no more rude than wearing a necklace or a gimme' ball cap or a yarmulke - if you are offended by my exposed shootin' iron, that is your issue, not mine.

Of course, YMMV - Enjoy!
