I ordered a 10.5 inch upper from optics planet and got this email. I am super upset.

Thank you for ordering:

We have carefully reviewed the details of your order and some or all of the products you ordered are subject to United States federal, state and/or local government laws and regulations regarding the domestic sale of restricted products. We apologize, but at this time we are not able to proceed with processing your order. In order to ensure that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations we are forced to cancel your order.

If you paid by credit card, it HAS NOT been charged.

Last I checked you can have a barrel this short as long as it's configured as a pistol and in the special comments I told them as such. My question is this... Why have these for sale if you can't sell them to one of the most accommodating states regarding firearms and regulations?

I do not Believe that I've done anything wrong right?

Unfortunately he's not been around very much recently so you might have better luck contacting by email but it's worth a try.

There are plenty of SBRs and AR pistols in Alaska, so no, you were not wrong in trying to order one. I actually bought a 12.5" Daniel Defense lightweight barrel for an XM177E2 build (permanently attached fake moderator) wiith no issue a few years back when I still lived in Anchorage. I'm sure it is an accidental mis-classification of Alaska on their website.
